Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

How do I connect old school dvd/vcr combo to LED HDTV?

The general rule of thumb is that R-W-Y outputs from the VCR/DVD combo plug into corresponding color coded inputs on the TV. I think the Y(ellow)/VIDEO designation indicates where to insert the Y cord. It's worth a try.

Tv picture changes and recording is unwatchable when trying to rec one of 4 local channels

It is the signal from the 4 local stations that is the problem, because you can record all others ok. Borrow another VCR and try to record them, if its the same tell the people who run the local channels that they are losing viewing figures, because their channels cannot be recorded.

No reception!

Contact Sony directly so they can walk you through it.
Before you do, try it from scratch one more time.

Good Luck.

Watch tv properly with JVC DVD off

Some philips tv's have a built in aerial amplifier, perhaps if you bought a digital aerial booster it will improve the picture quality.

My unit (just all of a sudden) will not turn on by

Check the power supply and all the capacitors throughout the unit, i have found that this is normally the case when an item will not power on and is displaying red LEDS. Good Luck.

Power surge has killed my DR-MH200SEK

gargame,

good day, if you already replaced the fuse and still keeps on blowing it again. you still have a short circuit somewhere within the power supply area or board.try to check if there are any other blown parts or slightly expanded shape part specially for capacitors near the power supply area .

2) If you do have multi tester and have some basic knowledge with component checking try to check the polyswitch protector, this is connected parralel to AC supply right after the fuse before going to voltage rectifier diode.

3) if it doesn't have a polyswitch protector check the polarity of your rectifier diode, maybe 1 of this 4bridged diode is shorted.

cheers,
mark

No sound through channels on hdd dvd

If you are taking output from the Red, Green Blue connectors (Component) from your video source and plugging them into your hd dvd recorder, you need a sound channel as well. The S-video carries both audio & video but not in high-definition. Sounds like you've got the 3 channels for your video (RGB-component) connection now you need an audio signal into your HD DVD recorder. That will be 1 fibre connection or 2 cables. Let me know if you get it working & good luck!

JVC DR-M100S

I have a JVC DR-MH50 DVD/HD recorder and it will only record on DVD-R or DVD-RW not DVD+R or +RW. so check your format of disk you are trying to record on it may be as simple as that.
