Hi.
I have had several questions from users getting Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library errors when starting Roxio Creator 2010 and previous versions.
After the error prompt, the software will close down.
The problem is caused by a system error , and this sometimes is causedby Microsoft self installing update, that confuse settings of installedsoftware.
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libraries are part of the operativesystem, and this kind of Run time errors are commonly caused whenapplications try to access resources that are allocated for otherprocesses.
A new Roxio installation did not fix the problem, because the newinstallation will still keep the registry settings from oldinstallation.
If the problem started recently you can try the following:
Uninstall Roxio.
Do a System Restore to a date before the problem started.
Reinstall Roxio.
See: How to install System restore.If that does not fix the problem you can also try the following;
Uninstall Roxio
Create a new user with administrator privileges
Log in using the New User account
Install Roxio again.
If the problem was bound to local user settings, this will fix the problem.
If the problem is still there, then the most efficient way to proceedis by doing a new Windows installation, using a Windows setup disk or arecovery disk for your computer.
Do a full backup of your data before reinstalling Windows.
See:
Install, reinstall, or uninstall Windows The solution does not apply only to Roxio, but can fix the same problem on different software.
Regards.
