Hi,
Looks like your cat has activated the windows narrator feature on your PC.

To turn it off, click on Start, then click on all programs, then click Accessories, then open Accessiblity, then open Narrator. It will be shown as running, click on stop and close the window.

Also, you can turn it off from the Task Manager. To open task manager, right -click on the taskbar, select Task Manager, under Processes Tab you will find utilman.exe. Right-click on utilman.exe, then select End Process, select Yes from the next announcement window, then close the Task Manager.

Hope this solves your problem. Thanks.

You can also bring up the narrator menu directly by pressing Windows+U keys together. Then click on Narrator is running, then click stop. Close the open menu windows. Hope this solves the problem. Thanks

Try this

System Prefs > Universal Access > Seeing Tab > Turn VoiceOver off

you can also disable unwanted key commands via System Preferences-->Keyboard & Mouse-->Keyboard Shortcuts

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Something was turned on with in "Universal Access" under system preferences. Most likely it is Sticky Keys. This can be turned off under the keyboard tab of "Universal Access"

Cat walked on keyboard now i have no sound

Try installing the latest audio driver.
You can download the device drivers for your model laptop from the Toshiba WEB site from their download page. Make sure you enter the model of your laptop so you can get the correct drivers. Please click on this link: - http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp

It has stopped speaking. Everything else works fine. We have checked that the voice is definitely switched on. It's a TomTom about 4 years old.

the spoken direction mode only works when you have selected the "computer voice" option. If you have changed the voice in the settings, spoken direction will be disabled. Also, in the settings, there is an option to switch off the speaker. Make sure you have not done this. Finally, tap the bottom left hand side of the screen and move the slider bar to the right to increase volume.
I hope one of these hints helps

Xxl 530s spoken street names

Not all sound files speak out the street names. So, in a way, it is your set up that needs to be changed. It is is not a wrong information. If you want, street names spoken, you need to select a voice that ends with computer. For example, the voice file selection: Simon, English UK, Computer will speak street names. But the voice file, Bonnie, English US will not speak Street names. Dave, English US, computer will give you street names but Lori or Mandy, English US will not. Procedure to get the street names spoken: Tap on main screen. Tap on change preferences. Tap on arrow. Tap on change voices. Tap (select) a voice that ends with computer. Tap select. Tap done till you reach the main screen.

No street names spoken

Have you selected an electronic voice? If you have a "standard" voice or have used a "celebrity" download voice, it won't give computed responses for street names.
Go to voices, change voice and try a digital/electronic voice. If not installed, use TomTom home to download an electronic voice.
Hope this helps

Reset the BIOS to its default settings then restore the Computer to the original factory settings by performing System Recovery using the OEM Recovery Discs set provided by the manufacturer. This will help you decide whether the issue is related to the keyboard or due to inappropriate drivers or utilities.
