Thats funny, cause I took the cartridges out and left the lid up, unplugged it, plugged it back in with my finger on the power button and tapped the stop/reset button twice. Put the cartridges in, pressed the color start, after some moaning a test page printed. I unplugged it again, plugged it back in and I had full ink Levels!!!

I remove the cartridge and turned off and on the printer, it somehow reset but still not enough. It has the same error and I cannot use it, I tried the steps here How to reset canon mp240 and that did the trick. I just need to push some buttons on my printer and I'm back in business.

You need a shop to reset that counter, I'm not allowed to give those instructions as they are the property of Canon. It's a procedure in the machine diagnostics and sometimes you need the Canon diagnostic software on your computer.

If you are not "allowed" to give the instructions, then why are you repsonding, you idiot? I guess you would have to do that with every Canon question? What a moron.

If you did reset that counter at home, the waste ink will soon overflow, damaging the print engine and quite possibly ruining some furniture with the excess ink coming out. Who's the MORON?

I doubt you washed the ink absorber, the absorber is under the printer covering the whole bottom area of the printer, there are at least 3 pads stacked on top of each other to fill all the space under the print engine. Many people just clean the filter pad on top of the cleaning and purge assembly, when the majority of the ink goes to the bottom of the case.

Absorbed ink full...can I reset my pixma mp240?

I am sorry to say that you cannot reset the ink absorber counter. It can only be done by an Canon engineer or a canon trained engineer as the software required to perform the reset is personalised by Canon to the individual engineer. You will have to take it to an authorised canon repairer. Any way you cant change the absorbers yourself as they are in bottom of the machine and it needs to be stripped.
