Either the LCD has failed or the flexible printed circuit board (pcb) edge connector has become loose.
Either way you only have two choices: get it fixed professionally or learn to love the viewfinder.
Until recently this repair would always have been uneconomical, but many camera repairers can now sort this out fairly easily, even if a new LCD is required. The bad news is that I'm finding that all good camera repairers have turnaround times of around 4-6 weeks at the moment.in both Europe and North America partially due to work backlogs and partially due to waiting for spare parts. For this reason I've used a company in Malaysia whenever possible for the last few years and can highly recommend their work. it's only useful to you if you live in that part of the world or pass through Kuala Lumpur regularly : http://electronics.zibb.com/profile/camera+service+centre/my/wilayah+persekutuan/kuala+lumpur/50000/26338866
If you can't wait that long then sell your camera "as is" and buy a replacement. A used FZ-5 is cheaper as it has 5MP but is otherwise the same camera and it has a better image quality due to less image noise. Anything above 2 or 3MP is ideal for most people who never print above A4 size (definitely more than adequate for those who only ever view on a computer monitor) and 5MP gives sufficient extra detail to allow a reasonable amount of selective enlargement.
Many photographers (myself included) rarely use the rear LCD and prefer a viewfinder so the price you get for your 7MP version may almost pay for the less popular 5MP variant. The vast majority of consumers ignorantly think that more megapixels=better, so the lack of demand for models with a low megapixel count means there are real bargains to be had.
