Question about Icom M302 VHF Radio

Any recommendations? I'm interested in buying a radio for my new boat, but I really know nothing about these things. Does anyone have a guide or a recommendation about a certain model?

My Uniden Atlantis fell off of my boat dash and now it will not work. Can it be fixed, if so where, and about how much?

Unfortunately, you would be able to pretty much buy a new radio for what it would cost to bench test the old one. (I'd keep the old radio for parts though.

Hope this helps you out.

I have a clarion m455a marine raidio in our new boat. It has two cmrc3d remote control stations. niether one of them work. Why

Sorry I can't help you...but wanted to let you know you are not alone. I bought a 2007 Chap last March and have the same problem. I've covered all the basic/common sense troubleshooting but can't get them to function. My frustration is that the displays work so the clock/radio station is displayed but nothing in regards to controlling the deck.

My son and his buddy recently installed an amphlified stereo system on our center console and there is something strange going on that I can't figure out. It is a Clarion stereo with a JBL amp. The boat...

If a boat is anything like a car, the amp's negative post should not be connected to the battery, but to the ground of the boat. In a car, the entire chassis is grounded to the negative terminal, so when you run a line from the positive terminal of the battery to the positive post on the amp, and a line from the negative post on the amp to the chassis it is a complete circuit. I highly recommend placing a fuse on the positive line from the battery to the amp. Wiring this way prevents the amp from blowing up your battery, as well as prevents the battery from blowing your amp. Hope it works.

No chann. 70 on Uniden 525 marine radio

You can't "select" channel 70, nor can you talk on channel 70. Channel 70 is reserved for the exchange of digital data between radios.

And it is not possible to address an "emergency" (do you mean distress? or urgency?) message to an individual recipient.

Your radio is not allowing you to do any of these things because it has been (correctly) programmed to discourage you from doing things that would be illegal.

If you set up a routine call with your friend (or anyone else), you should find that once the two radios have completed their (almost instantaneous) exchange on Channel 70, they will both switch to whichever working channel you had selected, and he will get a beeping sound to tell him that there is an incoming call.

Sounds to me like both radios are doing exactly what they are supposed to.

5 AMPS would be more then you need. 3 Amps would run it ok. I would go with the 5. But do not, DO NOT, sorry for stressing this but you will ruin your radio if you do go any higher then 5 amps

Connect the negitives of the battiers to the boat still route both positive & negitive wiring to all devices. Check the continunity of your transducers include flexing while ohming. Let me know of the results.
