Most common fault I find when repairing vacuum cleaners is that the cable is broken, however the motors do have a one shot thermal fuse on them, check the cable for continuity and breaks pay attention to where the cable goes into the vacuum body this is the most common point.

Some vacuums have a reset button you can push. Some have a fuse in the power line that may have blown. You will have to follow the power all the way through the vacuum checking the voltage at each switch, connection, etc. I often unhook the power & neutral wires from the motor and hook up a power cord with connectors on the end directly to the motor to make sure the motor is good. You must be very knowledgable with motors, switches, electrical testing, etc. If not this repair is best left to a professional.
Vacuum works with the battery but does not work with 120 volt. Every time I plug it in it blows the internal fuse. I have replaced the fuse inside the vaccum several times and every time i plug it in it blows. What do you think it could be?
called dyson they told me to turn the vaccum on and off 5 times, lower the handle to the floor when it was off. Now try the vaccum again and it worked. This is somekind of reset.
