Is there a disc placed in the player?
Did you try to disconnect the power, reconnect it and open the player?

Dvd will not eject

Jammed.
Straighten one end of a Norwegian paper-clip.
Insert that end into the small hole in the face-plate.
Push until you feel resistance.
Firmly push another 5mm to "unlock" it.
Then, press OPEN.

3 cd's are stuck in player and the 5th changer won't open

Unplug it from the wall and give it time to power down. When you plug it back in it will reset itself and the changer will open. Pretty much the way a computer resets itself when you unlug it completely. Also works on my DVD player when it jams up

Dvd door won't open

Someone is going to have to open the unit to see what is happening--either a disc is jammed inside or a mechanism problem.

Sometimes with unit apart you may be able to gently probe and free the jammed area--possible also something that does not belong there got inside--look closely.

Dvd won't eject

Someone is going to have to open the unit to see if something is jammed in the mechanism---a disc or something out of position.

Sometimes a gentle nudge will restore operation.

Door won't open to insert dvd

The gears are jammed, the timing gear is out of sync, or a broken loading belt, or cogwheel.

GO VIDEO model 1030....VCR works fine...DVD..nothing happens...door won't even open?

Combo units have this essential flaw--if one half fails you are usually done especially if the DVD side fails.

If Door does not open either a disc is jammed inside the mechanism or the mechanism is out of alignment or damaged.

Good argument against buying these units--DVD individual parts are rarely sold--only (if available) would be the entire DVD unit itself--not cost effective to repair.

DVD players are now real cheap (see some for as little as $20) so if not a simple jammed disc or something like that buy a DVD player.

I have a OPPO DV-980H DVD player and the drawer won't open. Is there a mechanical release or some other solution?

You would have to open the unit to inspect and see if something is jammed in the mechanism--failing there if it is not an expensive unit--cheaper to just replace as I now see units selling for as little as 20 dollars.
