Question about Ryobi Cultivator

Toro straight shaft interchangable head trimmer starts hard

I don't see any model #'s on the toro. On the Walbro carb it has 345 319 stamped on it. There isn't any mixture adjustments on it. Just 1 screw for idle speed / RPM. Throttle plate is a ball type. Like a ball valve. I removed it and disassembled it cleaned it and it started on the 1st pull idled for less than 1 minute died out and would only restart with a shot of carb cleaner and multiple pulls. Lines all appear to be good no cracks and filter is submerged in fuel. Any help would be great. a diagram or exact model so I could find a diagram would work too. I noticed on the card body side of the diaphram it has a lever that the diaphram moves. It looks like there may have been a piece the covers the path to the main jet. that would open and close with the diaphram and the lever. I know I am not the 1st person in it and never had one like this apart before. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Rich

Have two string trimmers, both hard to start. shindawa homelite 62061 & toro TB21EC. H/L does great job when it starts. Toro won't come up to speed. Have cleaned carbs in both and checked plug

When you say it will not rev up to full speed, that sounds to me like a blockage either in the spak arrester in the muffler outlet, or the exhaust port is blocked, or the muffler itself is blocked.

What thread is on a older toro gas straight shaft? it doesn't appear to be 3/8-24 LH but its close.

I like this question as it poses quite a challenge! Older Echos have the left handed threads on their crankshafts (and possibly even now)...but the shaft off the gear head would really confuse people who can't remove the head anyway if it was LH and that job in itself is a challenge also. Do you have any hardware that will thread onto it?...never seen an old Toro before! yes, 3/8 24 is a pretty standard SAE size...but certainly the Toro shaft could be close to that and some other size entirely > I hate to think in terms of metric on this.
