First you need to be sure the internal cooling fan is running and your air flow is not blocked.
The cooling fan should run anytime you are cooking.
If not, the magnetron will overheat and its thermostat will open, disconnecting power to the unit until it cools off and resets.
If that's not the issue, then you either have a bad connection or a bad magnetron.
