  • Anonymous Jul 23, 2009

We have arrived at the opinion that while replacing the key board there are 99.9% chances you have connected thte connectors for mouse and key board in opposite direction. Once this had happened with me also accidently.

In dell inspiron 1525 laptop, all light blinking but display not coming

If you mean that your Num lock , Caps lock, and Scroll lock LED's are all flashing then this indicates there is a problem with your motherboard.

Dell inspiron 2200 laptop - what are the 4 lights on top right of keyboard for? the first one is constantly blinking and the others are never lit up

Hi those are your keyboard and status lights

Looking at your laptop from the front the first light on your Right hand side is your scroll lock light and is only on when you press the scroll lock button (the symbol shows a lock with a little down arrow)

The light to the left hand side of that light is your caps lock light and again only turns on when you press the caps lock key (The symbol shows a lock with a A in it)

The light to the left hand side of that is your numeric keypad light (Symbol has a lock with a 9 in it), this comes on when you press the num lock key on your keybaord

Finally the last key is your hard drive light (like a cylinder), this will be flashing most of the time as you use your PC as it is constantly reading and writing data

Dell Inspiron B120 won't power on

Hi
I would check the RAM in the laptop and see if it is not seated properly. You should have 2 areas that hold #1 RAM Chip
One under the keyboard and one on the bottom. I had a Dell Latitude D620 and the ram was not seated properly and I received the same error.
I hope this helps
:)

Try cleaning the system memory and slots with a soft dry clean painbrush and re-seating it.
Also make sure the air vents and fan area is free of dust.

Dell Lattitude C840 Laptop

The 3 LED's (Num Lock, Caps Lock, Scroll Lock) are used by Dell to diagnose no-post issues such as yours. The only error code close to yours is [Num Lock ON, Caps Lock FLASHING, Scroll Lock ON]. This indicates a a memory error. Try reseating the memory modules. If you have 2 memory modules, insert one at a time to determine the faulty module.
