Ya thats what playstation told me too, i just dont know how to imput them.I know where to go to imput the port numbers but i get confused. theres a global port start, global port end,and a base/host port.which port numbers do i enter and in which slots.I havent been this frustrated since i softmodded my xbox.lol

oh ya i forgot to mention im wireless on the network.

  • bmercado1986 Jul 23, 2009

i tried hooking up the wire, its still doing the same thing.its deffinetely a port issue, i have the port numbers, i know where to go to imput them, but i just dont know which numbers go in which slots. theres a global port slot, global port end,and host or base port if i remember correctly.please can someone just give me detailed instructions on imputing the codes in the proper slots.ppppleeease!!!!!!

hey sorry for not replying sooner,so heres my update.I imputed the port numbers exactly like i was supposed to. I even went to portforward.com and got detailed step by step instructions on how to do it.....but it still didnt work.On the other hand i went to the PS online manuals page and found a support section were i can imput my error code and it will diagnose the problem and give u suggestions for possible solutions.Soooo, according to the online manual; since i can access my internet browser, and log on to the playstation store i should b able to access PS network. But since i cant, they concluded that there may be something wrong with the game itself.(in case your wondering which game it is its Super street fighter 2 hd remix)so I decided to try and rule that out by trying to play some other games online, which i never tried before cause street fighter is usually all i play. The First game i tried to play was street fighter 4 and that didnt work,it also kicked me off the network. Then i tried metal gear solid 4,and believe it or not it didnt give me any problems playing online at all.so what do i do, i sent capcom an email regarding my issue but havent received a response yet.what do u guys think?

  • bmercado1986 Jul 30, 2009

ok, check it out. I have tried every solution that this website has givin me,they were all great solutions.Unfortunately non of em' worked. On the upside though I am relieved to inform u guys that i have found a way around it.Its not the solution but a merely a loophole if you will.I found that simply loggin in under another user name (you'll have to register to PS network again and create a diff. name)allowed me to play both my street fighter games online.I dont understand it, evrything i tried had no effect, i was still able to play my other games online but out of nowhere both of my street fighter's denied then kicked me off the network.WTF!!! Now simply creating a new account solved this problem, I am online again with both street fighter games hassle free. What happened here???

Try these steps
Disconnect your Router and your wifi for 30 seconds. Then connect ur router 1st wait until all the lights are solid green and re connect ur wifi. Put your PS3 in DMZ, your PS3 should never ever be behind the routers protection.
If this does not help then you can try updating the firmware for your PS3.

Even if this does not help then contact Sony PS3 because this is a very common problem and may be they will have a solution for this.

Hi,
Playstation Network Required Ports

TCP 80
TCP 443
TCP 5223
UDP 3478
UDP 3479
UDP 3658

Make sure that MEDIA SERVER is DISABLE in network settings, and check your NAT type, it should be type 2, also put your PS3 in DMZ, your PS3 should never ever be behind the routers protection.

This how to get the PS3 in DMZ >>>>>>>>>>

  • Firstly, you will need to assign your PS3 a static internal IP address. Normally whenever a device connects to your router it will be assigned a different internal IP address. These are normally 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3, 192.168.1.4 and so on. Assigning a static one will ensure that your PS3 will get the same one every time it connects.
  • Go to the "Settings > Network Settings > Internet Connection Settings" option on the PS3 XMB. Choose whether you are using wireless or wired.
  • Both selections should show a page called "Address Settings". Here you will need to select "Custom". Another page will then display entitled "IP Address Setting". The option "Manual" will need to be selected.
  • This will display a page where customizable IP Addresses are available to be entered.
  • IP Address - This will need to have the Static IP address in it. Use 192.168.1.80, simply because it is unlikely that 80 other devices will be connected at the same time.
  • Subnet Mask - always set to 255.255.255.0
  • Default Router - Is the internal IP Address of your router.
    1. To get the exact ip of your router you should go to
    2. Start
    3. Run
    4. cmd [Hit Enter]
    5. Type in ipconfig and hit enter, this should come up with all the ip addresses to do with your computer and the network. The address you will need to enter in this option is listed as "Default Gateway".

  • Primary DNS - Same IP Address as "Default Router"
  • Secondary DNS - Same IP Address as "Default Router"
  • Proxy When you get to the proxy screen, select "Do not use Proxy"
  • MTU Automatic
  • UPnP Enabled

Regards.

IF U TRY THIS USING A WIRED CONNECTION AND NOT WIRELESS DOES IT WORK OK? THIS COULD BE A WIRELESS ROUTER ISSUE.

Hi,

It seems that few of the ports required by PS3 are being blocked on your network. Please confirm if you are using any wired/wireless router on the network. If yes then you will have to forward few ports on that. If not then you will have to do the same on your Verizon modem.

The required ports are:

TCP: 80, 443, 5223, and Port Range 10070 - 10080
UDP: 3478, 3479, 3658, and 10070

Alternatively you may open DMZ on the modem/router for the IP address of the PS3.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

If I have helped you, please help me, and rate this suggestion the highest FixYa rating. If you cannot rate this post with the highest rating, then please comment to this post and I will try to help you further.

Regards
Anand

Not allowed access to in game playstation store to purchase bonus packs

Most likely because the servers are down. A game like this, that game out 3 years ago, wouldn't have the store or multiplayer servers still running. You can try searching for DLC directly through PS store, but as far as through the in game menu, it's not going to happen.

I just bought my first ps3 in order to play some friends in madden online. I have everything connected and can go on the internet and watch netflix, the only things i can not do is access the playstation...

First make sure that your PS3 connects with your acces point eather wireless or with wire, te second step is configurate your PS3 for wire connection or wireless connection.
These settings are found under the network settings.
Also see the manual to see how you need to configurate the PS3 in detail.

Allso make sure when the PS3 is connected corectly to the acces point that the firewall of the acces point is not interfearing the connection.

I can't access the playstation network, Netflix, or PS store but I can access the Internet. I have wifi and my iPhone works fine. When I try to log in it says "connection with PS network timed out

Turn the playstation off and then back on. You have to be connected to PSN to play Netflix and connect to the PS Store--is something maybe wrong with your username/password?

No internet access on wi/fi

PS3 works on bluetooth so ya may need a wi-fi plug-in adaptor to fix this or a bluetooth connection to a broadband , but not sure how good this will be , cable is the best for online play .

PS-III Rock Band - Internet Load While Gaming

Yes, the problem is with the PS3.
When using the PS3, if possible, disconnect any computers and devices (PDA's, PSP's, Phones, etc) that are using the internet both Wireless and Wired.

This should minimize the connections being used.
Another tip is disabling the PS3's Network connection when NOT using the Online features of the PS3. The Ps3 does not have to be connected so that it could be played offline.
