LCD screen glows super bright then shuts down with red pwr lite

Hi,

I would appreciate some assistance with My Viewsonic N3250W LCD TV. The LCD screen glows extremely bright. So bright in fact it's hard to see the menus screen. Also, after a minute or so the TV shuts down and the green power light turns red. I've pulled off the back to measure the power supply voltages. With the LCD converter unplugged The PS voltages are fine. No obvious defects on the LCD converter PCB. Is the LCD converter PCB defective?

The ps voltages need to checked with inverter plugged in otherwise you can't verify a p/s failure. most likely you will need a new inverter/ps. Julio milleniumtvsvc@gmail.com

The Screen is black no video. No respond on Power button. Blue power lite coms on after minut or tow it self and stil no video with blue PWR lite on.

That can be as simple as failed DC filter caps in the power supply, that will be the first thing to check, as you can see in my albums of failed VIEWSONIC and ALL brands of monitors.

Viewsonic N3250w. Power supply went out and I replaced the bad capacitors. TV worked for a week then now when I turn it on, the screen just turns on and off

Check to see if the 24vdc disappear when the screen black out, it is always there then you have problem in the backlight inverter board. Did you replace the caps in the 24vdc supply also? I replace the whole set.

After relocation to another room, HDTV N3250w wont turn on---

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If you are getting power supply to the cord however, there is nothing coming up on the unit then it is the power supply section that is causing this issue. You’ll have to open the back of the unit and then check for any bulged/blown capacitors on the power supply board. Also check for any loose wires inside the unit from the power supply board. All this is only recommended to be done by someone who has electrical expertise and a basic knowledge of internal circuitry of the unit. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

the pin at one side is the base, et the other side top is colector and bottom emiter, looking the transistor face flat down.

I try to turn it on but it just blinks on stand by

Probable Lamp. If lamp hasn't bown the red Lamp Lite won't flash but other lamp issues cause stby timer light to continue flashing. If stby red lite is flashing, count the no. of times flashing - could open thermal fuse (6X flashing)

ViewSonic N3250w has black line

Unfortunately, my experience with LCDs says that when you see something like this, it usually indicates that the LCD screen is cracked. If you press gently in the area of deformity and it goes clear then returns to black when you remove pressure, it's a tell-tale sign of a cracked screen. Go to e-bay and see if you can get a replacement screen if you're mechanically up to changing it yourself, else an electronics repair shop might be your only hope.
