    IIf iit is the diigital board, would that be very expensive to have it replaced and, if that is the case, do you know how I would find a reliable techniican here in South Florida? Also, is it possible that I may have jarred something when I moved the tv?

  • shirjon1 Jul 23, 2009

    I would be afraid to try to fix it myself. Since the problem is, so far,intermitent, I'm going to try to use HDMI calbes to see if that helps. If not, I may have to have it serviced professionally if it is not too expensive. I bought the tv from Circuit City about 2 years ago. I can't find the paper work and Circuit City is out of business.

    I took your advice and checked the cables. So far, it seems to have solved my problem. Thank you.

Hi...

If you are using Component inputs, check to make sure that the Blue Video Cable has not backed out of its connecting jack at either end or the cable it's self being bad.
If you are using HDMI I would suspect that the Digital Board being bad. It would be odd for the Color Wheel to cause the problem but cannot eliminate it as a cause. The Lamp would cause the picture to be darker but not cause a color to drop out.
Note :
I would call a professional to trouble shoot it unless you have the knowledge and the tools to do so.
There are very high voltage generated inside the TV.

Hope this helps

Thanks
Smith

Check the easiest things first:
Do you have the source devices connected with component cables? If so, try removing them and reconnecting them at both the source and the TV. They may have either come lose, or they may have tried to connect them to the wrong inputs.

Lines appearing on the screen are usually the sign of a failing DMD board, the motherboard of the tv. You might want to try some component (red/green/blue) cables into the component input of the tv just to check and see if it's only the analog board going out, the yellow red white cables plug into and are for analog, the component plug into a digital board so the problem may go away. If you need a new board, check out www.VanceBaldwin.com

Are you able to locate the original invoice/paperwork of this Samsung LN82341WX/XXA HDTV?

This can be a direct import unit. NOT via the normal retail out.

LN is the correct series of flat screen TV. The rest of the number do not fall into the normal USA stock number.

=====

If you want to try your luck on fixing the color board the the first thing is to get the unit clean up.

Remove the back cover and use compress air (INVERT THE CAN) and clean/chill one board at a time.

Test the TV and see which board is the trouble maker.

In some case, chilling the unit can reveal the part(s) in question.

If you have the time and compress air then give it a try.

Please post the invoice model number and RE-CHECK the model number on the back the unit.

I will append to this post after you provide me more infomation.

    Samsung use this naming convention.

    Example:

    LN46B650

    LN = LCD HDTV

    46 = 46" diagonal screen measurement

    B650 = the model number.

    LN82341WX/XXA

    82" screen ???????? NO such animal

    How big is your diagonal screen measurement?

    After you post the screen size,I can compare the similar Samsung model to give you and idea how much it will cost.

Hp w2007 why does the computer go pink everything that is green is now black

All the colours on the screen are created by "mixing" the 3 "primary" colours (red, blue, green).

Once the production of "green" ceases, anything that should be "100% green" becomes "100% black",
and every colour that indicates some percentage of "green" becomes a mixture of just RED and BLUE, i.e., various shades of PINK.

First, try the monitor on another computer (desktop or laptop). If the problem persists, it's time to replace the monitor. If the problem vanishes, it's the video-card in your computer that is not generating GREEN, or it is the "data" cable between your monitor and your computer that is not transmitting the GREEN request. So, you can try replacing the data-cable, or try replacing the video-card.

Green and pink shadow on my samsung 55in proj tv what can i do to fix it. i all ready fixed red and blue line but green is way off and i dont see any way to fix it

hi, this is the early signs of convergence board chip failure. you will need to replace this board in order to correct the collaboration feature. the convergence is responsible for regulating the RGB stream in you set. if it is malfunctioning, you will not be able to regulate the red blue green streams.
