How to fix the Braun series 3 razor, after the trimmerattachment, falls off, due to sonic weld failures ...
When the razor is not regularly cleaned in the cleaning station and the hygiene indicator goes low, the cleaning station may lose its ability to sense the fluid level. I almost sent the cleaning station in for repair (mine is out of warranty) but was able to clear the faulty condition by resetting the razor's cutter replacement (holding the small recessed reset button below "Braun" logo on the razor) and unplugging/replugging the station then attempting a cleaning until it performed one completely successful cleaning cycle. After that the fluid level showed full. I also heard that the drain hole in the "cup" where the razor sits can get clogged - not sure what happens then but you want to keep that clean. Update 2/2018: If you mix your own formula as others note, it is important to include some tap water for electrical conductivity for the fluid sensor to work.
After dropping the razor it is very difficult to know what the problem is without examining it. Based on the symptoms you describe, I would guess that the the 'drive unit' is damaged. You will find this part available at shaveroutlet.com. See link below. Scroll down the page for installation help video
pit back in the charge station for at least 4 hours and switch the power on for the charger
many small battery chargers will flatten the battery if the power is switched off
if that fails , contact amazon for a return letter to get you warranty refund
These cleaning/charging units are prone to going bad. There are no parts for them, so, you will need to replace it.
You will find at shaveroutlet.com Braun Series 7 and Pulsonic Clean Charge Base
I had a similar problem where one of the side covers popped off. I was able to reattach it, by carefully aligning the spring and pushing back into place. If you've lost the pin, you're out of luck. Braun does not make these kinds of parts available for user servicing, unfortunately.
However, the 7000 series models are all compatible with each other in terms of motor, battery, and razor head armature. You could try locating a moderately used example on the cheap (maybe less than $20) and then cannibalize it for the parts you need.
Do NOT send it off to Braun for servicing, as you will be charged much more than the shaver is worth. If it comes to that, you're better off just going with an 8000 series shaver.
