I have a similar problem. It started at the same time as the last Vista update; not sure if it's related. If I boot my Dell Inspiron 530 with the keyboard and mouse plugged in through the Belkin switch, I get a "Keyboard Not Recognized" error message. Can't do anything until I reboot without the Belkin switch attached.
Could there be a conflict with the new Vista update?
no its not, sometimes that device or the port connection are not installed yet properly. To check it on the device manager, see to it that the connection on your Belkin Switch are functioning. Or try another port or USB connection, it might work there.

The monitor resolution is lower when docked laptop hooked on via the KVM switch. ControlPanel's Display shows max resolution which is still lower than when laptop connected to monitor directly. How to go about this issue? Thanks, A
