Question about Pioneer DEH-P3500 CD Player

1 Answer

Not because of buttons wearing out over time!

Same issue, it happened when I accidentally ran the battery to ZERO while parked waiting for someone with the engine off but the lights and key on, (I'm not so smart...) The unit would not come back on initially, but then random buttons would start it up and I was able to select a station. Then it would always be on, I could not turn it off. It was radio only, and only to that one station. Nothing but volume worked. So I decided to try a CD and see if that would jar it awake. The CD played great, but when I ejected it, it turned off and NOTHING would wake it up. Now it will only play a CD, and the only control is volume. But the clock comes on, so I have that going for me...

Thanks! I have been looking for a reset switch, but can't seem to find one anywhere and the manual doesn't list one. Can you tell me where to find it on this machine?

Try pushing the reset switch, or disconnect power to the deck overnight.

if there is a reset switch, it will either be a pencil tipped size depression somwhere on the face or there may be a hole on the subpanel behind the face. not all decks have reset switches though.

2011 ford escape limited the remote start stopped workng

Remote starter in valet mode Symptoms: Lock and Unlock buttons work as normal, but pressing Start does not produce any response from the vehicle.
Causes: Someone accidentally pressed the combination of buttons to put the car into valet mode, usually when the remote is in a purse or pocket. Also, many remote car starters will revert to valet mode when the vehicle is disconnected for service.
Hood Pin Has Broken or Failed Symptoms: Pressing Start results in several flashes of the parking lights but no start. If equipped, Lock and Unlock still function.
Cause: In most cases, the under-hood pin switch is broken or corroded.
Remote Control Loses Programming Symptoms: Pressing any button on the remote results in no response from vehicle.
Cause: It is rare, but does happen - in most cases, this is caused by a dead battery in the vehicle or the battery having been disconnected when being serviced.
Remote starters usually have some type of non-volatile memory to retain things like programming features and remote control codes. Like any "computer" device, sometimes they lose memory. When this happens, simply call the store that installed it for you. In some cases, they may be able to tell you how to reprogram it over the phone. Other times, you will have to return to the store for a technician to program it. In any case, this is rare with higher-end remote starters.
Remote is in Second-car Mode Symptoms: Pressing any button on the remote results in no response from vehicle.
Causes: A combination of buttons were accidentally pressed, which put the remote in second-car mode.
Again, this is very rare, but happens from time to time. Many remote car starter remote controls have the ability to start two vehicles. If the remote is accidentally placed into second-car mode, it will not start or operate vehicle #1.
Simply read your owner's manual or call your installer for directions on how to revert the remote back to car #1.

Why would the anti-theft alarm go off?

Factory alarms rarely false alert, maybe someone did tamper with the car and ran off before you saw him. The one thing that will often trip alarms is a bad battery in the car, have it tested. Your car may have an add-on alarm in which case anything goofy can happen. It's odd that you had to hit the panic button to shut the alarm off, but if it functions normally otherwise it's unlikely to need a new battery. Is it at all possible that you hit the panic button and that caused the alarm to sound? If it was in your purse or pocket maybe it got pressed in which case it might be normal for you to have to hit panic again to turn it off.

Starter wiill not even engage turned the key on and nothing ran fine when I parked it and got up in the morning and wont even tur n over. Brand new battery

Hmm, possible problems:
- starter or starter solenoid defective.
- neutral switch or wiring thereto defective. Shift selector has to be in Park or Neutral to start. Sometimes brake pedal has to be pressed also for starter to turn.
- remote starter system defective (if you have this) This would be hard to diagnose.
I would first confirm if the starter works by putting 12V directly from positive pole on battery to positive connector on starter solenoid (use jumper cable, and wear goggles in case of massive sparking when you accidentally touch ground.)

I have a 1999 plymouth grand voyager and the gear shift is sticking in park. Any idea on how to fix this?

Found this maybe it will help your problem:

To shift out of park one or two things must happen. First when you depress the brake a solenoid or cable releases a lock. A defective solenoid, relay or a blown fuse or a broken or improperly adjusted cable can be the cause.

Some console shifters have a bypass. It may look like a place to insert the key or a round plug that will pop out.

The button on console shifters when depressed pushes down on a rod that runs down the shaft. That rod releases a lever designed to keep you from accidentally knocking your shifter from drive to reverse. The button or rod can wear or break.

TV Volume turns down by itself - Philips 29PT8319 Matchline 27"

Most likely the volume down button on the front of the TV or the switch that it activates is sticking. Should be an easy fix otherwise.
