No, it's something that isn't supposed to do as a home owner. The igniter generally is held on by one screw at the end of the burner jet with 2 wires leading off of it. Disconnect the power to the unit and remove the screw and slide it out. If it's a hot surface igniter, do not touch the surface of it because this will cause it to blow. It's also very fragile as well. If it's a spark igniter, make sure the old one isn't oxidized at the tip and if it is, try cleaning it with a fine abrasive cloth and reassemble.

When I turn on my furance or ac the blower is always on even though the fan is set to auto. When it is on heat it never gives off any hot air, so it never warms up the house. I had someone look at it and...

If this is a mobile home furnace they usually have a two stage gas valve. Generally they just have a delay in opening fully and are convertable from L.P to natural gas or vice versa. It is a possibilty that the gas valve is bad. If so it will have to be replaced. First I would have someone check your thermostat to see if that is what is causeing the blower to run . does the burner ever light? I wouldsuggest that you hire a service tech. who is knowledgable on intertherm furnaces. I don't recommend anyone who is not trained to change gas valves, because of safty concerns. I hope this helps you some. Thanks

Intertherm gas furnace

It appears your furnace is a downflow furnace. The sensor will be located near the bottom of the furnace. When you first turn it on, you should see a red glow.....this is the hot surface ignitor. Normally, the Hot Surface Ignitor is located on one end of the burners and the Flame Sensor is located on the oppoosite end of the Burners.

Furnace blowing cold air

Hello , I think I can help , It sounds like the gas valve as long as your sure there is plenty of gas going to the unit and you have an electronic ignitor , if there is a pilot light its not electronic. the gas valve should come as an assembly to install and its pretty easy to complete. Let me know if you need more help. Good luck
