SOURCE: Gamecube Recognizes what game the disc is, but cannot read it
Make sure its in the right way (image facing up) then close the lid and press power button it should load the game up automatically (dont hold a after switching on the gamecube. if it persists take out the disc wipe it again blow on the gamecube to remove and dust then try switching on the gamecube without the disc it should show the menu, press up and there should be a question mark, insert disc, there it should show the game, press 'A' to confirm, then press start if it persists it is recommended you get it checked out because it could be the case that the disc is badly written like my lego starwars 3 on one of the levels it goes wierd and it spoils it really (i think there is a problem with all starwars games personally). Anyway Hope i helped as much as i could.
SOURCE: my nintendo gamecube controller won't work in my nintendo wii
Are you talking about the controller or memory card?? If the controller try plugging it into the second gamecube controller slot even if you are wanting it for player one. This is the only way I have been able to get it to work.
SOURCE: The game disk could not be read.
It sounds like the disc reader is dirty, it's the little clear circle right under where a disc would go, closest to the back of the unit.
To clean, open disc cover, locate the disc reader, use a dry soft towel or some toilet paper and gently wipe it off, sometimes even a little dust can cause a problem. This should do the trick. If it doesn't, then either the disc is scratched or the Game Cube has something wrong with it.
hope this helps!
