  • Open the two cart doors on the bottom front of the grill, if your DCS model has doors.
  • Remove the drip pan under the grill by sliding it forward.
  • Locate the 9-volt battery behind the grill control panel in the compartment directly below the "Ignition" button on the front of the panel. The battery is mounted vertically to the connection plate.
  • Pull the battery straight down to disconnect and remove, using pliers if necessary.
  • Hold the new battery in position below the connection terminals so that the positive (+) post on the battery is facing inward beneath the grill. The positive post is the larger of the two posts on the top of the battery. Push straight up to connect the battery.
  • Slide the drip pan back in place and close the grill cart doors.

How do I replace ignitor switch in thermos gas grill, if this is what is what I saw?

If that white is ceramic, I think it is the actual ignitor, not the switch.

The problem most likely the ignitor itself. If you have the paperwork that came with the grill, It should have an origional replacement parts page. If not, you may be able to get a universal at your local hardware or home supply store.

2 of 3 ignitors are not sparking as they should. need instructions on removing the front cover to inspect ignitors. Thanks Andy

Look for screws in each corner of the front of the panel, or on the left and right side. Since this is a very wide grill, the front panel may also be attached to one or more of the valves. Remove the knobs and check to see if any of the screws holding the knob bezels also holds the front panel to the valve. I know on DCS built-ins, it usally takes a Torx bit to remove the front panel screws.

How to change battery in a dcs grill

Jennifer, it fairly easy to do. Unscrew the Ignitor Button cap and you will see the old battery behind it. Take note which end of the battery is facing you. As, that's the way you want to install the new battery.

While old battery is out, check the contacts in the battery holder for signs of corrosion. If you see any, a Q-Tip and WD40 work well to remove it.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!!

Igniter doesn't work. New battery installed.

First, make sure the battery if turned in the proper direction. On most grills, the + end should face you. Also, check for any corrosion inside the batter holder, If you see any, clean it out with a Q tip and a little WD40. Check the wiring behind the control panel where the ignitor module is located. Be sure all the wires are still attached and the ground wire is attached firmly. If none of this solves the problem ... Remove the cooking grates and flame tamer and clean all of the ignitors next to the burners. They may be covered with grease. A cotton ball and alcohol works well to clean them.

If by some slim chance, none of the above solves the problem, it's time to replace the ingnitor assembly. You can purchase it directly from DCS or the dealer you purchased the grill from.

Hope this helped to solve your problem.

Converting outdoor double side burner to LP use?

Replace or convert your pressure regulator. Plug and redrill all orifices 10 orifice sizes smaller or readjust your burner orifices. Adjust air shutters. Replace standing pilots with LP ones (if applicable). Nothing to it.

Weber Genesis outdoor grill. The ignitor clicks

If you hold down the igniter can you smell the gas coming out of the burners.

Have you disconnected the pipe from the barbie to see if the bottle regulator is actually letting gas through.

Turning the gas on in free air with no one smoking or naked fllames near the pipe is ok

You just crack open the valve a turn or two and you should hear and smell it.

If there is gas coming out og the pipe and not out of the burners then the gas control valve in the barbie is at fault and needs replacing
