2 Answers

Samsung LN-5265F LCD TV is very slow to come on. It makes a clicking sound and eventually comes on. Gets longer each time. 30 mintes last night. Over an 2 hours tonight and still not on. I press the power button and the blue light below the screen glows (as normal). The TV clicks (2 tones - like click beat click beat beat; click beat click beat beat) like it is trying to start. What could the problem be?

G'Day!

Unfortunately, what you're describing is a repair issue. You won't be able to address the problem with troubleshooting. There is a part inside the TV that needs to be replaced. If you're under warranty, this will cost you nothing. If you're not under warranty the cost will likely be a minimum of $200 parts and labor. However, be warned that the cost could be considerably higher.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please post a comment if you need additional assistance so that I can help you further

1. the motherboard might be bad and you will need to replace it. 2. or The power supply is bad
Chances are if its making clicks the power supply is bad and you will need to replace it. Which makes sense because constantly powering the tv on and off will damage the power supply or possibly short out your motherboard. These things usually cost about 200 bucks to fix at a local tv repair store.

Most likely a power supply component has aged and thus changed value and/or failed. Take it to a reputable repair person.

Samung LN-S4051Dtaking longer and longer to turn on eventually taking over 30 minutes,

You are having issues with one of two of the power supplies,
1) The main power supply
2) The Lamp Ballast 'back florescent lighting' power supply.
A good TV repair shop should be able to repair this for you. Possibly between $200 to 300 repair.

Clicking noises before TV turns on.

The clicking noise is coming from the power supply relay. Is makes this sound when the TV is usually turned on or off but has become faulty. It will only get worse over time usually until the TV will no longer turn on anymore. You need to replace the power supply in order to fix the TV.

Tv will not turn on

My TV had a simular issue...delayed power-on with repetitive clicking. I found a post at Techreport.com about bad capacitors on the power board. This and other Samsung models seem to have an issue with these components failing. I replaced the capcitors myself last night, and the tv is now working perfectly. Cost me about $15 in parts and an hours time. Hope this helps!

Samsung LN-S4051D slow to turn on.

You are likely to have a module bad....part number BN94-00864A and if you take it out (unpluggs) you should inspect it for capacitors that may be domed or pooched up at the top. If so they should be replaced first before getting the module as the capacitors are about $1.00 each. Do a search for Samsung parts online if you need the module and call them toll free
