Question about Rosewill R900J 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

Same problem man

Dell E310 PC Specs P4 2.8GHz 80GB of stortage and 512MB of RAM and a Nvidia FX 5200 graphics card... Basically the screen goes off, even though the power is on (green button still green) but I can get the image to return if I switch the monitor on and off... The problem first started when I took my PC to go get repaired and when I got it back after about a week this started happening. I used to get around the screen going off by turning it on and off for about 30 mins and eventually the screen would stay on... but this no longer happens. I tryed my PC at the repair shop and even that monitor had the same problem but the guy claimed to have fixed it after he altered the resolution but this proved to be a temporary fix, I never mess around with resolution so I don't quite understand how this could be the problem. Problems I have identified that could be the cause are the Driver being out of date or corrupted, Solder melted so the screen is not connected properly, something to do with the RAM, wrong power settings (voltage etc) and possibly something to do with the resolution (although I doubt it) I have tryed changing the resolution and booting in VGA mode, reinstalling the driver, updating the driver and scanning my computer

Try going to your display and use default monitor instead of your monitor.

Try going to 'My Computer', 'Properties', 'Device Hardware', 'Display'.

Uninstall the monitor that is currently installed, when the computer detects hardware (monitor) to install, override auto install by installing default monitor.

This will help determine if this a software issue with your current monitor.

If the problem still exist, you are looking at a monitor problem or a video card problem inside your computer.

Have you tried hooking the monitor up to another computer?

Sounds like you have resolved your issue. 'Faulty Monitor'

You may want to hook your old monitor up to another computer to verify, not faulty or corrupt installation on your computer. May be go from there to address monitor issue.

Same problem screen goes dark.

Hi

Well I would have thought this to be a classic failing monitor until you said even a new monitor does the same thing. This being the case it can only be the video card or drivers for the card. Resolution is easy to change and could cause the problem if the resolution selected cannot be displayed by the monitor. At the main windows screen right click the mouse and select properties. Now click the settings tab and the resolution is on the left side. Your display should also be listed.

Thanks

Screen goes off but the power is still on - Dell E310

I can tell you that the guy at the repair place is an IDIOT
resolution would have nothing to do with it
could be something to do with your power sittings
try the options for power saveing from the monitors menu
if thats isnt he probelem it could be hardware
Because dell lock their bios your graphics card cant be overclocked
so it probibly isnt wrong voltage either
corrupt drivers wouldn't be fixed by flicking the monitor on and off nor would a shortage of ram
could be a worm some can get past even the best anti-virus software
best bet is to take it back to the repair shop and shout at the idiot who "fixed" it

Upgrade compatibility continued

hiya

as this pc is skt 775 and has dual core support then it is quite likely that the e5200 will work but may need a bios update to support this cpu...

just goto dells site and choose the pc u have and select drivers then download the lastest bios, transfer it to the dell pc run it as its a self extractor system will reboot perform the update then bobs ya uncle.......pop in new cpu and hey presto cheapo ugrado

#and as for the graphics card you will need to accertain which pcie version u have as most dell pc's only have pcie v1 so wont be able to handle the newer gpu's on the market.......

hope this helps

I don't what the problem is.

Firstly have you considered it is the game? try restalling

If that doesnt work, it is most likely your video card. dxdiag into run and click all the run test buttons you can see.
Update video drivers and try installing to a different pci slot.

It may be the video cards ram instead of your pcs ram.
but check the pcs ram is compatible.

Nvidia geforce FX 5200 having poblems booting pc....

as your primary pc now has a working graphics card . I would guess your graphics card is fried in all honesty there is really no hope in repairing it especially for the cost of one of those cards, if you are simply using your second pc for non graphic intensive apps then I am sure you could find an ol pci grpahics card down the local dump for next to nothing hope this helps.
