DescribI have a Samsung 56lhr that is 5 years old. I've changed the bulb about a week ago and light output is good, but the set has started switching the picture off for no reason. The lamp is still on and the tv is still on - just no picture - no lights or warnings or anything. If I switch the set off it will switch back on with a picture but after a couple of minuets, the picture will switch off again. if i keep on doing this the length of time with picture will be shorten until the picture will just show for just 3 min and switch off again but again without warning or anything. waht this could be? any idea?e your Samsung Problem

thanks for the quick response with my prob. anyway just to give you the jist of the issue, i just replaced the buld a week ago and i thought that there were no issues going to appear. the picture is as good as new the first time i turned it on i was happy but after 20 mins the picture dissapered without any flashing indicators on the TV. it was like the tv is working fine but the thing is there is no picture. when i looked at the back of the tv i noticed that the lamp is still on and i notice the screen has some kind of a raster on it. i tried waiting for the picture to come back for several mins but it wont come back. i hope you guys could help me out with this issue. thanks in advance.

and i almost forgot, there is this thing that the samsung repair guys are talking about after replacing the lamp. the lamp life timer resetting by doing mute+1+8+2+power thing. they explained to me that they have to reset it if not the thing happening on my TV will happen. actualy they are right. but still they are wrong coz i already did the resetting of the lamp hour counter. the freaks dont want to give me the code and the procedure and they are askingking me for a 300$ labor cost but i still got it from here (anyways thanks to the guys who posted it i saved 300 bucks). again thanks very much for looking on to this issue. more power

You might have a defective lamp, if not then the ballast might be the problem, Julio milleniumtvsvc@gmail

Please check the door switch and the bulb holders, in some cases it can be due to loose connection or a faulty switch on the door, The failure of the bulb is another issue but the main subject is how you can check and remove the bulb.

First thing change the lamp. There are several other things but this is most common. Be sure tab on lamp door presses door switch in downward position when you change the lamp. MCM Electronics you can get a philips bulb for $99.00.

Samsung tv hln567w

This was a $4000 TV 5 years ago. I own one, and it is still a very good TV. The biggest thing that can go wrong (and is worth repairing) is the light bulb can go out & it costs about $200 to replace. If anything else major goes out, it is probable better replaced than repaired.

3 blinking lights - Samsung DLP

Remove your new bulb and examine the connector carefully. The inexpensive replacement bulbs tend to arc and ruin your $700 ballast; sad to say. If everything looks good, make sure the interlock switch on the bulb cover opening is engaging. It won't fire up if it thinks that door is open.

Sony Wega kdf-55wf655 rear projection set keeps turning on and off

If picture quality is poor, be sure you aligned the bulb in the correct manner and be sure the cover for the bulb is not loose. Also, you might want to re check you picture setting as it might have gotten reset when you pulled the plug (I hope you pulled the plug when replacing the bulb).
Heres another solution (maybe temporary) to the problem of no picture and no sound for 30 seconds. I had my tv's power saving setting on "standard" before. After I switched it to "reduced", the problem was fixed. It has been almost two weeks without the problem. I think its a good fix until the new bulb comes in the mail.

Hi! sweet123,

Please answer this question. Were the 4 bulbs visabley bad; say broken or did they have a milkey look, or broken wire inside? In other words did the bulbs you replaced look as good as a new unused bulb? Please reply.

Sound, but no picture. Standby light blinking 5 times

A few weeks ago my set started flashing to a black screen. Now a couple of weeks later, i have no picture, but the set turns on and i have sound. The standby light is flashing. I purchased the set in 2000 so it is seven years old. This is the first problem. Could it be all three of the bulbs? Could it be all three of the bulbs? no as you say that sound is ok that means your power supply &high voltage section is ok. please check chroma ic luminance section or system control section stand by ckt ihanks
