Question about Kenmore 55612 / 55614 / 5561 / 655619 Side by Side Refrigerator
I need to know if this refrigerator is Energy Star Compliant. My neighbor wants to buy it from me. My owner's manual doesn't spell it out but I cannot imagine that I would buy one that wasn't. It is 11 or 12 years old and the Sears salesman tells me that ESC's began in 1979. Anybody know about this model or if there's a sticker or label on the refrig that I'm missing? Thanks.

SOURCE: is my fridge energy star rated?
ALL ENERGY STAR APPLIANCES HAVE A "ENERGY-STAR LABEL" USUALLY LOCATED ON OR NEAR THE MODEL AND SER. NUMBER TAG OR LABEL. CHECK ON THE BACK OR INSIDE THE REFRIGERATOR WHERE THE COLD CONTROLS ARE LOCATED.

if you are having tempurature issues make sure the fan in the freezer is operating. it should be on when the compresor is running. this may explain both warm fridge and no ice.

That is a Tecumseh compressor and refrigerators are very tricky when it comes to installing a new compressor. It will need a new liquid drier and silver soldered in a tight place. Then the system will need to be put in a absolute vacuum for about 1 hour. The freon will have to be weighed and charged into the refrigerator very carefully as it take only a few ounce's of freon. Too much or too little or just a tiny bubble of outside air will cause the refrigerator not to work. The fact that the old compressor needs removed also raises the question of if the original was a burn out. If it was a burn out then the type of oil the new compressor and the old will need to be considered to determine if more things, like acid neutralizer or filter driers will be needed to insure proper installation. Hope I have helped you, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Try sliding them upwards ( the top ones ) , downwards ( for the bottom ones ) , as far as they will slide , then remove .

Tips for a great answer:
Hello friend, thank you for your post!
Your high temp alarm will sound once your refrigerator temperature rises to an unstable temperature on the inside of your appliance. If you refrigerator is cooling properly I would recommend resetting your appliance which can be done by disconnecting the power to your appliance for roughly ten minutes. If this does not correct the issue, I would recommend having a professional come and diagnose your appliance properly. Hopefully this is helpful. -Matt
