SOURCE: broiler element comes on when "bake" is pressed

does the bake element come on at all?
if so, try the oven out. do a bake @ 350 allow it to pre-heat, and see if once the pre-heat is comlete, id the broil shuts off.
on many ovens at the beginning of the cycle during pre-heat both bake and broil elements are powered.

other than that it may be a control board, or a burnt and crossed wire in the harness.

Bread does not rise

Make sure that your yeast is easy-bake and that it is not nearing its expiry date. Also try moving your bread maker to somewhere less cool. Rising is sometimes affected by ambient room temperature. Good luck.

Bread does not rise enough I have carefully measured ingredients use rapid bake setting fleichmans rapid rise yeast checked water temp still having problems I have tried 4 times regular and rapid rise and...

A few tips.
The yeast must be absolutely fresh, use sachets instead of packets.
Keep yeast well away from the fats and liquids.
The fast rise setting will produce less rise than the full program.
You must only use strong bread flour.
Open lid immediately beep sounds.

I just purchased my bread machine and was excited to use it so i tried to bake whole wheat bread... i followed all the instructions and exact ingredients but my bread turned out undone... the top was not...

Don't get discouraged. Most new users of bread machines make some mistakes in the beginning.
Some things to remember: Don't lift the lid and peak inside... you'll let heat out especially during baking....recommend rapid rise yeast not active dry....I use half the salt recipes call for especially with whole wheat. Recommend you try some recipes first with unbleached bread flour, basic white bread recipes so you'll get a good rise and get your confidence up and then try whole wheat.
Maybe some of these tips will help ....

The paddle stays inside bread when operation complete

Hi,
Most of the time this happens. It's normal. You can fish it out of there, or simply take out the paddle after the final rise and before baking.

Dough wont rise . everything else works

We perserved for 6 months and found that the drive shaft was worn out. The shaft wobbled very slightly. We baked several windowless buildings (bricks) before we found this out and bought a new shaft for under NZ$80. Hope this helps.

Cannot find out how to set timer for 3 hours for wholemeal rapid bake on machine number panasonic bread making machine sd-255/sd-254

Hi,

You can't set a timer when you also set rapid bake - the two are not compatible.

If you set it to 'Bake' without the 'Rapid' setting, THEN you can set the timer.
