Mitsubishi 3515R , LOST LOCK CODE

My son had entered a lock code that he cannot remember, the manual instructed me to enter "QV" and 9, and it works, but I have to do it every time I turn on the TV. Is there a way to overide his code permantly so I can use my cable box univ. remote alone and not having to find my fact. remote each and every time?

frustrated and respectfuly submitted,

Steve

Once you get the set to work, go into the menu and turn off the lock. Plain and simple. Good Luck

    Try this order of operations:

Press the #9 and the QV buttons at the same time.
    The TV will turn on.

    Press the button labeled MENU.
The "TV Main Menu" will be displayed.

Press the ADJUST UP or DOWN button to move the arrow next to the
"Advanced Features" selection and then press ENTER.

The "Advanced Features" menu will appear and
indicate that the lock is ON.

Press the ADJUST button to move the arrow next to the "Parental
Lock" option, and then press ENTER.
The screen will change to indicate "Parental Lock
... Now the lock is on" and ask for the four digit
    personal code.

Press the #9 and QV buttons at the same time.
The screen will return to the "Advanced Features"
menu and indicate that the lock is off.

Press the MENU button twice to return to normal viewing.

The original lock code has now been erased and the lock canceled.

Mitsubishi parental unlock code???

Hello

Mitsubishi sets use a four-digit code for a V-Chip locked program, view a locked TV, cancel the lock, or to enter the V-Chip lock menus. You can view the locked shows on the TV set by pressing the number 9 and QV buttons on the remote at the same time, whenever your code is requested. This process temporarily unlocks the TV and asks you to enter a new code.
OK.

Tip

Bypass V-Chip Mitsubishi TV

Bypassing the V-Chip Lock on most Mitsubishi sets:
Mitsubishi sets use a four-digit passcode that is required to view a V-Chip locked program, view the locked TV, cancel the lock, or enter the V-Chip lock menus.
If you don't have the passcode, it is easy to bypass. This is neccessary if you forgot the code, purchased the set used, or if you simply don't feel like searching through your files to find it.

To bypass the V-chip: You can view the locked shows by pressing the number 9 and QV buttons on the remote at the same time, whenever your passcode is requested. This process temporarily unlocks the TV.

To reset the code: When you use the button combination 9 and QV while entering the V-Chip Lock menu, this process deletes your old passcode and prompts you to enter a new passcode.

Parental pin

Hi!

To unlock your set requires two steps: the first is to get past the lock screen. To do that, press the QV( or previous channel?) and 9 buttons at the same time when you are asked to enter your lock code.
Now that you're past the lock screen, find the menu that covers locking and unlocking. QV/9 (previous channel/9) is a one-time bypass; if you turn the set off, it'll be locked again when you turn it on, so you first need to LOCK it again, with a pass code you can remember (try 1,1,1,1). Once you lock it, you can exit from all the menus, then try to change inputs. It'll ask for a pass code, which you now know!

Please ask for further clarifications and rate the solution as Fixya if found useful.

Thanks
Rylee
