Emachine el1200 will not boot

My emachine el1200 was accidentally unplugged while on, and left unplugged overnight.

I plugged it in, and it went through it's start-up process, the screen went black and it said that there is a booting error, that it needs a disk to reboot itself.

What do I do? And how do I get the disk?

HI,
If you have the windows XP or Vista CD that came along with the system. Kindly insert the disk and restart your computer it should fix the issue .
If you have not received the disks with the system , you should call the manufacturer to source the cds

Can you upgrade to 4 gigs of memory even though it says 2gigs on the eMachines EL1200-05w

@stuart252

I don't recommend upgrading the computer's RAM because this computer only supports up to 2Gb at max, if you upgrade it to 4Gigs (2pcs 2Gb), the machine may not boot up at all.

Cheers

When i turn on my computer it glitches and restarts repeatedly. need to do a system restore, but nothing seems to work. it is an emachines EL1200

Micahs
What triggered the problem? do you know? did you recently change anything? install any new programs? etc.
Do you get any error messages? Do you see the windows loading screen and then it just reboots again?

Try this first: HIt F8 when it is trying to boot, and if you get to select boot using Last Known Good settings. See if that helps. If not we can try something more advanced.
