SOURCE: DYSON MOTOR BRUSHES
how do I change the carbon brushes in a dc07, I have removed the brush units from the motor
SOURCE: The brush bar on my Dyson DC17 stopped turning.
If this model has a brush control - i.e a roller at the side of the model which controls brush to spin or not, then its a protected brush model - therefore even if the drive belt is intact the Dyson would have to be repaired by a service personnel or professional. The brush protection isn't able to be taken apart and sounds like it may well have slipped off due to tension.
SOURCE: New Roomba 560 beep twice, ask to clean brushes, but no dirt
your roomba is thinking that you need to clean the brushes. if too much load it put on your brush motor--the unit will think that something is wrapped around the brush and slowing down the motor. if you have cleaned your brush and are sure that is not the problem; you need to look for anything else that could be slowing down the brush/motor. If this is inconclusive you need to put your roomba into diagnostic mode by following the procedures in the link below http://swiftracer.com/index.php?myPage=RoombaDiagnosticMode.php

Hi its Darran at Dyson.
Simply switch the machine off and stand it upright. Press the brush bar on/off switch once and then turn the machine back on.
When you release the machine into the vacuuming position, the brush bar should start to turn again.
If you still having problems, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).
Kind regards
Darran

SOURCE: Red off/on flashing, roller brush not moving and no blockage
If this has a rotory brush (spins) than check the belt. Take the bottom part off, (should be about four screws) and check to ensure the belt is on and the motor shaft is not just spinning. Usually when this happens you'll smell the belt burning. After so long the belt gets thinner, and will break.
If the belt is in good repair, turn it on with it laid on it's back, and watch to see the brush(es) are turning. If not, I suggest contacting the customer service department of it's manufacturer for further details and repair solutions.
Please, let me know if you need any further assistance with this.
