Question about Craftsman 42 in. Deck 19.5hp Lawn Tractor

1 Answer

Blades don't engage

I have a 42 inch Craftsmen with the 18.5 HP Briggs and Stratton engine and electric clutch. All of sudden the blades are not engaging. The mower will not start with the deck switch in the "on" position, so it seems the switch is working. I pulled the connector off the clutch and re-set it, no results. Other than that, its running fine, the drive isn't slipping. Is my clutch shot all of a sudden, or is there something else I should check first?
