Problem with Monitors

Screen becomes unviewable

I plugged it up, and when it turns on, the picture is fine, but after a few minutes the picture starts to distort, the picture starts to get blurry as everything on my desktop display starts to move as if it was rippling like motion in water, and then the display is not readable at all. I tried to adjust the contrast and the brightness and this does not stop the movement, or help at all.

    • thanks, my other monitor worked perfectly. I have an upgraded graphics card because I do graphic design. I can't tell you off hand which brand it it is because I am at work, and the computer is at home. I did talk with my I.T guru at work, and he says that my monitor because of it's age, may need a driver loaded. other than that, it just may be a bad monitor.

    • Frequently the left side of the monitor shows multi-colored vertical lines. Any ideas? Also, maybe I'm just a moron but I cannot find in the manual how to degauss. Help!

Best Solution

Sounds like a problem with the graphics card or on board video. Please state which one you have and type. The last option is a bad monitor. Try Degaussing it first on the monitors menu selections. If you use a graphics card, you can disable it and try the on board one to see if it helps. If you need further assistance, please ask. I can guide you through all the steps.
