Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Picture keeps flashing

We've had nothing but problems with the magnavox DLP since we bought it. It was repaired once after being in the shop for almost 6 months because Magnavox was dragging their feet on sending the part. Now after the TV is on for a little while it starts to flash. Someone could have a seizure.

It could be related to the color wheel, best thing to do is contact the shop that worked on it the first time have them look at it. Julio milleniumtvsvc@gmail.com

Magnavox model 50ML8105D/17 shuts down after only a few seconds and overheat and lamp failure lights come on , I`ve replaced the lamp , but the problem still occurs

We reduced the picture size to 4:3 and was able to get quite a bit more life out of the lamp, without it shutting down. It does take awhile to get use to. But is much better than a dust catcher

Your bulb is burned out. I have had the same problem. It seems this television has an overheating problem--and short bulb life. I have had our 50 Magnavox dlp for two years and just put in the second bulb before Christmas. You can buy the bulb from a dealer on ebay for $99 and install it yourself. I is not in the housing so you have to carefully take out 4 screws and replace the bulb without touching the face of the bulb. To buy the one from Magnavox with the housing is much more expensive. I think the first time my husband replaced the bulb it took about 45 minutes--this time it took about 20.
