Your going to have to open the door to find the pilot light. Next to
the pilot light you will see a small rod with either a copper tube or a
wire leading to the combination valve. This combination valve has the
brown button that you have to push in order to light the pilot light.
This rod is called the thermocouple, and this is what opens the pilot
valve and the burner valve on the combination valve. When you hold down
the brown button and light the pilot light, the thermocouple heats
enough and opens the pilot valve, so that you can let go of the brown
button. The thermocouple then gets hotter, opening the burner valve.

Your going to have to check that the tip of the pilot light flame, is
just touching the thermocouple in order to get it hot enough to open
the two valves. The tip of the flame is the hottest part of the flame
and you can move the thermocouple in order to adjust it. Also check
that the pilot light is close enough to the burner. Sometimes things
move out of adjustment, and it is extremely easy to fix.

If the thermocouple gets red hot and still not keeping the valve open,
then try to replace it. If it is the common copper tube type, you can
go to any hardware store, in the hot water section, and buy one for
about $20.00 If it is the wire type, the your going to have to order
one. If this doesn't solve your problems, then you might
need to replace your combination valve, and that might get expensive. Let me know how this turns out.

Do you have power at the plug? Try resetting the GFI reset buttons on all kitchen outlets.

Why t takes long time for oven to heat up?

Does the oven actually heat up with the temperature more than 100 or does it just stay at 100? Alternatively, when you open the oven can you see the orange glow of the flame through the vents in the bottom of the oven and hear the gas hissing?

Hot surface igniter will glow and put out a flame but is not a blue/orange flame

First you need to get a nice blue steady flame to prove to the ignition module there is flame. Check you orifice and bypass tube.

Very small flame takes like ten minetes for flame to get high

Hello,

The reason the flame in the oven is so small and takes for ever to heat up is because the oven igniter is weak and can not open the gas valve very much so hardly any gas flows resulting in a low flame size. By replacing the oven igniter the flame will be full size and heat quickly.

It won't heat up... even though there is a flame

Check The Power Source

If the gas oven won't turn on, the first thing to do is check the power source. Most modern gas ovens are electrically powered. Check to make sure the oven is plugged in and the breaker isn't tripped.

Check the Heat Source

When a gas oven won't heat, the pilot light can also be set too low; if the pilot is lit but the oven isn't catching, adjust the flame.

Newer gas ovens use electric ignitors that produce sparks. If the oven doesn't heat, the ignitor could be broken.

I saw sparks? or small flame on back wall behind fan inside oven

It sounds likely that the fan motor is faulty, more so if the oven is heating to some extent.
You should be able to see or hear if the fan is working or not
Hope this helps with your prob.

Oven heat

The problem with you oven is the FFD (flame faliure device ) also known as FSD (flame safety device) The way is works is that when an oven is ignited first time the heat from the low level flame heats phail at the end of the calliary tube which in turn increases the pressure within this tube forcing open the FSD valve to open allowing full gas through. when this fails it restricts the amount of gas flowing through it leaving the oven with a small flame. these are easily repalaced but the law says it must be done by a corgi registered engineer for gas safetey reasons...But 110 % that is your fault. Gas oven not heating

waka,

I'm guessing that there is an issue of some kind with flow of heat inside the oven. Gas ovens use the hot air/gas exhaust to heat up the oven. Flames mean heat. The flames should be about half an inch long or so. If not, there may be an issue, but I don't think that is it.

Have you lined the oven with foil? It is possible that vents from the boiler section are closed up? That will prevent heat from reaching the oven.
