Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

My Magnavox TV won't show me the A/V signal from my DVD player. I have gone through the menu and there does not seem to be an "input" function at all. I don't have the original TV remote. So the previous solution does me no good--unless I take it in for servicing. My RCA cables are good. Any other ideas?

Cant hook up magnavox dvd player to t.v.

i hope the dvd player has the RCA cables for connecting the input signals to the tv for display and sound. the cables have input jacks at its ends and the same are color coded for easy identification on where to plug it in. with the use of colour insert the yellow pin to the tv yellow input and the same to the dvd and do the same to the white and red terminal and proceed on by turning the channel to AV and play

2.Configuring the appropriate setting and still the problem did not solve.Try to substitute your DVD with another functional DVD.But before also replace your RCA cord to take away the probability of defective cord. After replacing another DVD and the problem is solve, your DVD setting must be check if its in pal or NTSC setting.Try to press N/P button on your remote.
3.If the following procedure does not work.Your unit needs to be check by an expert. This could be a service mode repair or internal components repair.

Remote doesn't work rca model #F32648,i can't access the input function. The onscreen menu doesn't show it or I cannot find it. Problem is without it I can not use the DVD player.

This isn't a solution but I am unable to acccess the input either. My tv is hooked to a dvd,vcr and direct tv satellite with a dvr. I watched a movie on the dvd and the tv won;t allow me to switch the input back to satellite tv.

Completely lost the picture and sound. All that

You didn't mention from where your signal originates and that clue screen is common to many sets and means it is seeing no input signal.
The set would seem to be functional, otherwise you wouldn't be seeing the input selection menu.
While it is possible that the RF section/tuner (that handles the signal coming in) has failed, these are pretty solid.
If you have another set or can borrow one to connect to whatever source you have (antenna, cable, satellite) to see if a signal is, in fact, there.  As an alternative, you could connect your own signal source; VCR, DVD player, or, as it offers, HDMI or a PC and set it to whichever input you have supplied with signal.

Magnavox DV220mw9 won't record from Tv, hard to connect

check out this diagram, paying close attention to the audio video cable hookups.

assume the cable tv box represents the converter box

you are going to come out of the converter box audio and video outputs into the new magnavox dvd/vcr combo audio and video inputs.

Then out of the new magnavox dvd/vcr combo outputs to the inputs on the tv if it has such inputs. The TV will have to operate on the video input 1 or 2 if the tv has such a thing, use the remote for the tv to adjust the input signal to line in 1 or 2 depending on what it has.

If the tv has no coaxial input or audio video inputs then you might have to use an adapter, you can get these from radio shack.

You say it will not record from the tv, but in all actuality the dvd vcr combo is getting the signal from the converter box not the tv, do you understand what I mean here?

So the dvd vcr combo gets input from the converter box so you will have to set it to view signal from the line input you have plugged in from the converter box. line 1 or 2 or whatever the input is.

the tv will have to be set on the line input to view the signal from the dvd vcr combo.

That is as easy as I can put it. Study the diagram closely. You will see what I mean.

I pluged this in & it wil not show up on my tv

You cannot use RF (channel 3 or 4) to see the output of the Magnavox. You need a RF modulator or separate video/S-video and audio inputs. The antenna signal is passed through the 2160 for analog signals.(and digital if you have a converter box or digital tuner)
