resolution has to match the tv and the computer or youll have a black screen. keep switching resolutions in display properties in computer untill it submits 480 /720/1080

Change the Resolution of the 2 monitors to match the setting you prefer. (Right-Click on Desktop, choose "Screen resolution" It should show both monitors.Set resolution on the "Wrong" screen to match the settings on the "Correct" screen.

You need to go to the control panel in your computer and change the display resolution. The two resolutions are not matched is the only problem here. Find out what the native resolution is of your tv and match it in your computer.

Firstly you have not mentionrd thr Make & Model of your monitor.
Assuming it's a LCD Monitor you could try the following:

Modern monitors have a 'native resolution'. While most LCD monitors can display a wide variety of screen resolutions, the native resolution will always look best, since this is the screen resolution that matches the number of pixels inside the display. Any other screen resolution may look blocky or distorted, since the number of pixels used in the picture will not match the actual number in the display.

Make sure the computers screen resolution it matching the new monitors resolution. Typically the resolution on the computer should be set to max if it detects the new monitor.

if you have no zooom and only a digital zoom this wont work so you need a longer vga cable and if you have mounted it you need longer wires and to take your projector further back.

Get into the game setting s and reset the resolution to match the computers. This will reset the resolution if it is froze. Do the same with the pc, make sure your resolution settings are the same or as you want them to be. Try to keep your game resolutions close to the native resolution for your monitor when connected to the pc.

Well, how would you like us to help? I suppose the only way to getting the native resolution to match is by buying the same or similar monitor.

if the monitor will match well with Nvidia GTS8800 graphic card, you need to consider two issue:
1) resolution match from windows display property and moniter manu same one.
2) refresh frequency match from windows display property-->advance-->monitor and monitor manu--> refresh frequency
if two side setting could be all matched that you can use normally
if two side setting could not be matched any above step that you can not use some resolution normally possible.
