Did you mean P02?. If yes, means that carriage error occurs on your printer. This error is another format of error code 5100. It describes the same thing that applicable for all Canon inkjet printer model.

Error Code 5100

On my Canon MP 240 the P2 error code was because the belt which drives the cartridge unit had slipped off, so the motor turns but the cartridge unit doesnt move. Just make sure the belt is fitting over the cog correctly. As you look into the printer from the front - the cog is on the left hand side. This took away the P2 error code message on the lcd.

not picking up ink cartraiges, is the plastic sticker peice off the ink cartridges? are they lined up right in the printer, do you have enough paper in the machine for it to register.

P2 error is the final rinse probe. Depends on the model of the D/W for location, next to the vac breaker.

Error No. P2 is a problem of Scanner board... kindly change your scanner board... it may help your problem... thanks.

Just use a soft dry tissue and clean the thin transparent strip along the printer carraige gently and make sure that it is transparent all along the strip. You have to open the printer from the front to do this and to get to where the printer head stands turn it on and the head will park in the middle so that you can clean the right side of the strip. Then all should work as is, it worked for me
