will not play movie, when i have burned a movie on a dvd rw will not let me erase it as drive say no disc, please insert dis...all worked before...therefore will not let me watch it on computer...?

Thank you for taking the time to help me resolve my problem with my dvd drive, but it did not work. the dvd drive only reads dvd and not dvd r or rw, I have been told to re-set the computer from new,but i will loose all my work and thinks that i have installed....do you think this might work..??

If you have not recently added any software or did any other changes to your system, try this first. Shut down your computer and open the side panel with a Phillips screw driver. Look for the connectors for the drive and power main (the small one). Unplug them both and reconnect them and make sure that they are firmly in place. If this fails, your burner does not work and needs replacing
