Question about Dryers
I have a Mayteg clothes dryer, model DE313 series 05, which has sudenly stopped drying our clothes. After setting the AUTO DRY REGULAR CLOTHES switch to the medium - more dry position, and pressing the start button, the tumbler drum turns okay, however the unit never gets hot. That is, no matter how long it tumbles the clothes, upon opening the door, the clothes remain wet and cold. I suspect that the heating element needs to be replaced. Is this an accurate assessment of the problem? Thanks for your help! John Tancredi610firstname.lastname@example.org
That is a very accurate assessment of the problem. Check the element for continuity between its two contacts. If there is none, replace it. If there is, look for a fuse on the side with two wires going to it. Test it for continuity. If there is none, replace it.
