Hello.

Intermittent squeaking usually arises from drum rollers, a bearing at the back of the tub or the pulley for the belt. Locate where the squeak is coming from the loudest and you can narrow down the cause.

Loud in the back middle: Drum bearing kit

Loud in the back bottom: Drum rollers.

Loud in the top front: Drum glides

Lound in the bottom front: Belt pulley.

I have a Maytag Legacy Dryer SDE305DAYW that is squeeking. How do I change the belt?

the belt is not causing the squeek. either the tub rollers, or the idler pully is squeeking. you must remove the front panels and drum to inspect these parts. usually when a roller or idler pully is squeeking, you need to replace them. if they arnt to worn, you can clean the shaft and grease them to stop the squeek, but i dont recomend that, as it will just be a temporary fix and will start squeeking again. this isnt a easy repair if you've never done it. let me know if you have any further questions. Dryer was squeeking now not spinning

It sounds like the dryer belt is wore out or broken, you can usually order a replacement belt from the maker of your dryer at there website.
