Question about OKI Pacemark 3410 Matrix Printer

1 Answer

Printer Alarm Light

The Oki Pacemark 3410's alarm light comes on and stays on until I turn the printer on and off while holding the select button. I also get the message on the PC that says there is trouble printing to LPT1. All cable connections are good and I reinstalled the printer driver. Could the print head need replacing or is there some other issue?

My printer will go on and after a few invoices it starts moving like something is holding it down or the ribbon is getting tight until it stops and the alarm light on. Then I turn it off and hold the select button down and turn it on again. It will work find until a few more pages.

Each time I start my oki pacemark 3410 the alarm light comes on and stays on. I do not know how to reset it or clear the alarm. All of the buttoms appear to work.

The alarm light on my OKI is solid read. I've turned it on/off, unplugged it from the print server and blown out all bits of paper that may be stuck. If I turn it back on, the paper goes up and down, but the cartridge doesn't move and the light stays red.

SOURCE: OKI Pacemark 3410 Matrix Printer Error Writing to LPT1

A blinking alarm usually means an hardware error of some type, such as an obstruction on the printhead, or a bad motor or such.
When you have a blinking alarm light the other lights that are on will give you an error code that will tell you what the alarm means. You will need to look it up at Okidata.

Pacemark 3410 - printer shuts off after 30 seconds

Good chance the power supply is burned out. Located in the rear bottom of unit. You must remove the whole machine from case to get to it. Costs about $200.00 at any shop.

I have an Okidata Pacemark 3410 and the alarm light is blinking and will not print. i turn on and off and the alarm light just comes back on.

Normal 0 This doesn’t help fix all printers because each situation is different and in most cases we don’t have enough information to determine the fix. So hope this will provide some help.

Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

3410 Oki printer

If your print fades in then out every 5-6 lines, your platen probably has flat spots on it. This can be caused when someone forget to perform an alignment on a PH.

To run a test page you can power off the printer. Hold down the LF key and power on at the same time, this will print a self test.
