How do I oil my viking sewing machine? I have barely used it in the 10 years I have owned it, so I don't want to pay for a full tune-up. I'm sure it's linty and gummy inside.

The Designer II should not be oiled by the user. As with most computerized sewing machines, it's got a sealed bearing system. You do need to clean the bobbin area and the space under the bobbin case. See page 65 of the user manual to open stitch plate to clean the bobbin area and feed dogs. Next remove bobbin case holder and bobbin case to clean under there. Sometimes the interdental brushes can get some of the lint that the sewing machine brush misses.

The manual for the Husqvarna Viking Designer II is available on the product page: http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/en-US/Machines/DESIGNER-II . The current link to the manual is http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/getattachment/Machines/DESIGNER-II/Designer-II.pdf.aspx .

I hope this helps.

Reinsert the bobbin case in Viking 500

after removing the needleplate and gray bobbincase retainer, manually rotate the handlwheel so that the tip of the hook is between 11oclock and 10oclock. carefully insert the bobbincase into the hook assembly so that the gap in the bobbincase is centered below the feeddogs. manually rotate the handwheel slowly to confirm that the bobbincase is fully seated into the hook assembly. reinstall the gray retainer and then the needleplate. again manually rotate the handwheel to confirm that everything is seated correctly.

Price removed casing round bobbin and inner case to clean fluff , now I carnt seem to line up properly although all slots back the needle won't go down properly .....husqvarna Viking E10 ..man

Remove bobbin case completely and check that the needle will go down properly. If so, put the bobbin case back in lining up the black arrow on the bobbin case (on left hand side) with the metal arm that comes out slightly on the left side. Sometimes, it is tight getting the case back in place properly. Once in place, check that the case will rock back and forth slightly.
Hope this helps.

Trying to clean under the bobbin case on Viking Emerald 183 and I can't get it out.

When looking at your bobbin case from the top you will notice the hook. Think of the tip of the hook as a clock dial. At 12:00 the hook would be behind the needle. Turn the hand-wheel is at 10:00 this will allow more clearance when removing the bobbin case/basket.

I HAVE A HUSQVARNA 415 SEWING MACHINE. I AM LOOKING FOR THE NAME OF THE PART THAT YOU PUT THE BOBBIN INTO. I ORDERED A BOBBIN HOLDER, BUT THAT IS NOT IT.

The bobbin fits into a bobbin case (holder), the bobbin case is what you take out to put a new bobbin in. The bobbin case fits into the hook (it has a spindle in the center) which you do not take out of the machine unless you are doing maintenance. If you just ordered a bobbin holder, it could be for another machine. you must get a case made for the machine, a generic one will not work.

Husqvarna viking Platinum 775 fabric won't advance

Most of the time the bobbin case gets hung under the feed dogs, take your needle plate off and the bobbin cover there is a gray colored finger with a number 10 torx screw holding it in you can also try a small flat head screw driver, remove that finger and then remove your bobbin clean the hook out and replace the bobbin making sure it seats itself on the hook with the small notch on the bobbin case lining up with a small metall spring on the back right side of the hook area.
