Bosch dishwasher model SMV40T10GB/29. Scrubbing brush flashing on control panel. What does this mean?

I believe that is a no drain error. You can check to see if there are objects in the sump area like glass and food. If the water from the dishwasher can not drain into the air gap the dishwasher will be unable to drain. The sump is the area where your filter sits. You might have a bad pump or a blockage somewhere.

test this steps and fix it. God bless you

Belt, Water Pump

Although few dishwashers have a water pump belt, if the dishwasher won't drain there might be a worn or broken water pump belt. After removing the lower kick panel the motor can be seen in the front, the water pump belt is on the bottom of the motor.

Drain Pump

If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain pump might be defective. Test the pump motor with an Ohm meter. Drain pumps are not repairable, if it's defective it will need to be replaced.

Drain Impeller

The drain impeller is attached to the pump and pushes the water out of the dishwasher, through the drain tube and into the garbage disposer or drain line. If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain impeller might be broken or worn out. Replace both the impeller and seal at the same time.

Drain Solenoid Kit

If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain solenoid kit might need to be replaced. The drain solenoid is an actuator that opens a flap to allow the water to drain.

Drain Valve

The drain valve can get clogged with debris and should be cleaned out if the dishwasher won't drain. If it seems clear of debris but won't actuate, it will need to be replaced. The drain valve is not repairable.

Pump and Motor Assembly

If the dishwasher won't drain, the pump and motor assembly might be defective. If the motor runs during the drain cycle, check for a blockage in the drain line. If the motor won't run during the drain cycle or if it just hums when it should be running, the pump and motor assembly might need to be replaced.

Clogged or Improperly Installed Garbage Disposer

If the dishwasher won't drain and the garbage disposer was installed recently, the installer might have forgotten to knock out the drain plug from this disposer. All garbage disposers are sold with a solid plug in the drain tube for situations where a dishwasher isn't connected. However, if the dishwasher is connected, the plug will need to be removed. If the disposer wasn't replaced recently, remove the dishwasher drain hose from the disposer and clean out both the fitting on the disposer and the end of the drain hose. These are the most common places to find an obstruction if the dishwasher won't drain.

Drain Hose

If the dishwasher won't drain the drain hose might be clogged. Remove the drain hose from both the dishwasher and the sink drain to clean it out. The most common place for an obstruction is at the garbage disposer.

Check Valve

If the dishwasher won't drain the check valve might be stuck closed. The check valve is a device which prevents water from returning to the dishwasher after it has drained. If the valve gets stuck closed, it will prevent the water from draining. The check valve is located in or at the outlet of the pump that the drain hose attaches to. Sometimes the check valve is accessed from the inside of the unit depending on the model.

Check Ball

If the dishwasher won't drain the check ball might be stuck. The check ball is a small plastic ball in the check valve which prevents water from returning to the dishwasher after it has drained. If the ball gets stuck, it will prevent the water from draining also. The check valve is the device that the drain hose is attached to on the dishwasher.

Dishwasher stuck on drain cycle

Hello, If your dishwasher is stuck in the drain cycle there could be two reasons for the unit doing this. The first reason is you could have something clogged in the drain line or blocking the drain pumps impellar. If the unit is not able to empty the water out of the unit the drain pump will continue to try and empty the water. The second reason would be if you had a leak condition in which if you did have a leak the drain pump would continue trying to empty the unit to prevent the unit from leaking water outside of the unit. I would first remove where the drain line connects to your drain and inspect this area first if you do not find any blockages in this area you would have to de-install the unit from under the counter and check the oppisite end of the drain line to where it attaches to the drain pump itself. If you still found no blockages you would then remove and inspect the drain pump assuring that the impellar of the drain pump is spining and that there is nothing clogging the pump as well. If you have any further questions message me back. I await your reply
Thank you
Rick

Water did not drain from the bottom

Hello Cheryl, There are a couple of possibilities. When the dishwasher drains the dirty water it is a time based function. This leads me to believe it is a blockage or partial blockage in the drain hose.
Here is an example. (If your dishwasher drains into your garbage disposal) washing dishes you put scraps into the disposal and forget to turn it on after you are done. The disposal is filled with scraps this restricts the flow of dirty waterfrom the dishwasher. If the flow is restricted less water is being drained per second from the dishwasher. This is why the dishes still looked clean and there was still water in the bottom of the dishwasher.
(if your dishwasher drains into a drain pipe) there is blockage or partial blockagein the dishwasher drain hose. if the sink drains slowly the blockage is in the main line
Hope this helps

Water not draining in bottom of dishwasher

it might help to know the full model number of the dishwasher.

if the drain motor can be heard at the end of cycle and yet no water is draining out, then there could be a blocked drain hose or kitchen sink.

if you cannot hear the drain motor operating then it is a likely blockage or fault in the drain pump/ motor.

Whirlpool dishwasher model:DU800 CWDQ5 has very little and slow drain all other functions work great

Check the drain hose for kinks. If not kinked you will have to find the blockage. Look in areas where the hose has smaller diameter first.

Dishwasher will not drain

Hello Tom,
Glad that you were able to find something out of place in the check valve ( like the gasket) which in turn was restricting the ball in that check valve from being in the right position. I'd be willing to bet that your problem is solved..

Dishwasher won't drain

Hello lone-ross...I'd be happy to help you resolve your dishwasher problem however the chance of resolving that with no brand name, or model number limit the accuracy of my solution..There are so many thinghs that could factor in to your dishwasher not draining properly but the first one noemally involves an obstruction or blockage in the drain system. This can be as simple as the drain filter blocked with food byproducts, inlet or outlet to the pump blocked, the pump itself, your drain hose kinked or blocked or your house drain system restricting flow. Please provide additional details about your problem including the brand and model number of your dishwasher and what/when this problem started to happen. I'll keep an eye out for your reply.. Help me, help you..

you have a blockage somewhere probably. if the drain hose plumbed in under the sink, check there is no blockage in this area. also check the drain hose for blockages. if all clear, the fault is probably the drain pump itself
