I assume your hand remotes are working properly and if so your keypad is just sending out a weak signal. Best replace it.

Can not reprogram key pad on my liftmaster garage door opener ,tried every thing in the book ,hand held works and also i am able to open and close from the multi function door control.

If you are sure the battery is good and this doesn't work then you need to replace the keypad.

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to the keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and press enter.

Everything on the opener works fine but the key pad will not open the door when it is closed but will close the door when oprn

Make sure the battery in the keypad is good. A weak battery will cause this problem. If it is good then your keypad is going bad.

The key pad will close the garage door but it will not open the garage door.

If the keypad is the only remote unit you have that has short range then it is failing. The lack of signal strength prevents the signal from reaching the receiver when the door is closed. A replacement is the only cure.

Garage door won't close with remote and I have to hold the pad to make it go down, however it opens just fine.

Your safety reversing sensors must be connected and aligned correctly before the garage door opener will close. An obstruction in the path of the sensor will also cause your door to not close.

This sensor is an electronic beam, which is sent between two sending and receiving "eyes". These eyes face each other and are located just inside your garage door. They may need to be adjusted so the beam from the sending eye is properly detected by the receiving eye. Once the receiving eye "sees" the beam from the sending eye, a green indicator light will glow on the top of the eye. Tweak them a bit. If both lights do not come on you have bad sensors.

If the battery is good your keypad may just have a weak signal and needs to be replaced.

The garage key pad has stopped working

The most common problem for your situation is that the battery in your wallmounted key pad needs to be replaced. unscrew the little screw on the face of the device, remove the battery and replace it with one just like it. Radio shack usually has these batteries
