Have you tried a hard reset yet for this device? If not press the Top button of your iphone and the home button at the same time for 10 seconds and the iphone will reboot/restore the software not destroying your important information. It will go black then you should the apple logo come up and reset software for a short while. when its done you will see your home screen. Let me know if that helps

Good Luck!

okay. have you tried to reset the device w/out plugging it into the computer? the hard reset is an attempt to reset software without pluggin in to the computer. try this again please first: do no plug into computer while you do this

Press the home button (the big circle below the screen) and the
sleep wake button (the button on top of the iPhone) simultaneously.

Hold both buttons simultaneously for a few seconds, Ignore the "Slide to power off" and keep holding

The iPhone should now shutdown automatically

Turn the iPhone back on by hitting the sleep/wake button.

You should now see the Apple logo, your iPhone is restarting and bootin up.

get back with me if you attempt this and it fails

    Good Luck!

i have seen issues where you had to perform this hard reset at least 5 times. it sounds ridiculous i know, but so is the underlying problem with these devices, you are not alone with the problem. so i know it sounds monotonous but continue the hard reset a few more times and update me

to be perfectly honest this is the only known solution for the iphone white/black screens of death. and to speak frankly the issue will continue after this. if this unit is still under warranty i suggest taking it back and getting another unit. it will be more than likely refurbished. the issue is coming from the unit warming up and i believe it has affected the video chip that powers the screen causing the lines and the white screen. this happens very often on laptops and ps3's also. its the problem with people racing to get this new gear out and not testing the soldering and overheating issues correctly. if these hard resets do not work, try your hardest to get it replaced. my best to you!
    Good Luck!

Iphone screen white, clicks and turns on and off but cant see!

if is not water damage , apple should repair it. If not well open the iphone go to youtube see vid how to open it. turn off iphone open it just pull off #1 and put back in. that's the lcd connector. This should work if not take #1 then #2 and # 3 put all conector back that should work. #1 Lcd conectot #2 is the Digitizer #IS the ligth. If you got gray lines the lcd may be broken.

How to fix horisontal lines on display ( see the picture)? They stronger when system is restarted and then fading but never disappearing. They always stay the same.

horizontal lines can be caused by either a faulty grapchics card or a faulty monitor. try adjusting the screen refresh rate. if you are using a windows xp system goto

start>control panel>display>settings>advanced>monitor

then adjust the screen refresh rate and see if the horizontal lines disappear. if not, then you probably have a faulty graphics card or monitor.
