My Sansui SLED-55-FHD does not respond to the remote.Remote tested OK.Is there a setting on the tv or the remote which can solve the problem

I have the same problem with a 2005 Toshiba. Got a new remote...nothing. Seems like a lot of people are having this issue, must be a defect in the TV. Has anyone contacted Toshiba?

Hello
If you are sure that the fault is with the remote sensor of your TV, replace it with a new one. The remote sensor can be located just behind the remote sensor window at the front panel of the TV. You nave to open the TV to access it. It is a three solder terminal component. It will look somewhat like this, having brownish black in colour. This component can be bought from most of the electronic spare part selling shopw at your town; very cheap to buy too. OK

My TV sansui model SLED- 40FHD is in screen lock. What must we do as we misplaced the remote control
Try using the TV control buttons which will be placed on the backside of the TV or maybe on the bottom of your TV. There you will find a key to go to the menu/settings and there you can unlock your TV. It is the only option to unlock the TV screen lock otherwise you will have to purchase another remote.

Try any of the Sansui TV codes.

Sansui might be buying in some other brand of TV and rebadging it. Try the code auto search feature from the remote.

I have a Sansui SLED 2280 that I'd like to use without cable input. How do I switch to regular over the air (no cable) antenna? Thanks
To switch from cable to air or vice versa on most Sansui flat screen tv's including the SLED2280, go into the menu. Select "channel" on the screen. Press "enter" on the remote. Select "auto ch mem" on the screen. Press "enter" on remote. Select "signal type" on screen. Press right arrow button or right volume button on remote to change signal type (cable or air). To program channels into tv, select "automatic search" on screen then press "enter" on remote. Wait for search to finish.

Have you teseted the remote handset for infrared radiation? You just check it first. You can check it easly, if you have a cellphone, which has camera option. Put the phone on camera mode, and place the remote handsets' front end towards it lens, at about 1 feet away or so, press each button. If there is infrared signal, you can see its image on the phones' screen. If it is there and still your set is not responding to the remote control, iinfrared sensor inside is faulty. You know that component. Replace it with same type and number. Without remote control, you can't access many of the parameters of your TV. Ok.

TV is not responding to the remote control.
The set may have defaulted to a front panel lockout. To defeat that on the front of the set hold down the MENU button for 15 seconds and see if it will then power up. I know that doesn't solve the problem with the remote but one step atta time. These sets are prone to leaky switches on the control panel and when that happens the micro cannot accept two different commands at the same time. That could be why the remote is not working.

or use the general programming tool:
SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODE
 If your device does not respond to the remote after
trying all codes listed for your brand, or if your
brand is not listed, try searching for your code. For
example, to search for a code for your TV:
1. Press TV once.
2. Press and hold P until the red LED blinks
twice, then release.
3. Enter 9 9 1. The LED blinks twice.
4. Aim the remote at the TV and press Power.
The remote sends IR codes from its library to
the selected device, starting with the most
popular code first.
5. If the TV responds, go to step 6. If the TV
does not respond, press CH+. The remote will
try the next code. Continue until the TV
responds.
NOTE: Press CH- to try the previous code.
6. To lock in the code, press P once. The LED
blinks twice.
7. To search for other device codes, repeat steps
1 to 6, substituting the appropriate device
key.
