Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I purchased a Korg 168Rc Edit from Sound Tower.com it's basically a visual way of interpreting the Korg 168 Digital Mixer, you are using the MIDI functions to control the MODES, PARAMETERS of the 168. If you go to SoundTower.com you will see the EDIT and the picture will show you what is available, but that's all, how the tools in the tool bar functions, is beyond me. There isn't even a manual to describe the functions. Below are the tools available for use with EDIT. 1. Req Mode (Required Mode) 2. Program Librarian 3. Receive Current Program 4. Send Current Program to 168RC Mixer 5. Effect Configuration 6. Faders 7. Equalizer Setting 8. Group Bus - Master 9. Aux Out Channel 10. Effects 1 & 2 11. Midi Receive (Disable) 12. Toggle Meters Display on 168 Mixer

Hi.
I think by now you have understood how to use the Korg 168Rc Edit .
You will need to program it first, then to send the program to the mixer.
I am writing because your problem had been re-posted.
Please let us know if you still need help with the Korg software.

Regards.

I want to record from my Korg M50 to Cubase LE4 on my laptop.

Hello, To record into a lap top you will need a USB mixer, your audio output from the SYNTH will go into the mixer, you use the midi USB cable from the mixer to the lap top. this will help pre amplify your synth to normal audio levels. hope this helps.

While using korg m50 editor using usb data cable there is no sound from my lap.the sound is only from my head phone connected to my keyboard directly?

Are you connecting to the laptop and using it as a midi controller? You can record midi notes from the keyboard and send them to your laptop via USB using any midi sequencer program (reason, logic, etc). Create a midi track, select the input of that track as your keyboard, then hit record to play some midi notes. To hear what you record, you have to set the output of the midi track to whatever midi sounds or instrunents you have installed on your laptop.

If you are trying to record the actual audio sound the keyboard makes, use an audio program such as cubase, sonar, audacity, pro-tools, and either mic the keyboard, or connect one of the other audio outputs (1/4" TRS) to an audio input on your DAW, and record an audio track that way (as opposed to a midi track).

HI there I'm using a Korg synth with my M audiophile and I have a latency problem, I can access the usb control panel but it doesn't let me change the latency or sample rates can anyone help

the latency is in the sound card.
usually you can set the CPU cache to 512 in a program or synthesizer.
Your Korg softwear may be able to ajust this if it is on your pc. Most PC have the sound card built into the mother board thereby not cutting the performance.
2. You will have to purchase a external sound card for your Audio and midi interface to get the least amount of latency.
The PC cabinet with all it components has a lot of EMI (Electromagnetic interference) that cause some of the latency issues with these device. If you can live with 2ms latency which the human ear can't determine then you can render a acceptable audio and midi setup, The Ableton Live 8 series has a latency setting for the CPU in the program. Download the demo and see if you notice a difference.

No sound

1. plug in some headphones into the jack.
2. connect to an amplifier or external source.
3. connect midi to a midi-compatible device and determine if device receives signal by pressing keys

If #1 or #2 passes, your speakers are bad.

If #1 & #2 fail, but #3 passes, your setting are set so that there is no sound, but the keybourd still recognizes input.

If all three fail, the keys do not send a signal at all, you should replace the keyboard.

Switched from a g4 PowerPC to a g5 Intel Imac and now Mic has a lot of digital hiss

the Samson C01U picks up the noises running inside the computer, or laptop whichever you have. You can't change that. But if you want to get rid of it. I use Cool Edit Pro. There's this effect we have for Noise Reduction. I won't go further on unless you have this program, or something similar. But basically it takes out any unwanted static

Your question is very confusing. Try rephrasing it. You should try drawing a diagram with this and uploading it to your question to better explain yourself. If you can't upload it (I know I can through the answer, but I'm not so sure about the question) you can e-mail it to me. My address is johnkennick@yahoo.com , if not just put some more detail into the question and try rephrasing it. I'm not really sure about the details of your system.
