Loosen the chain and remove it from the sprocket on top of the motor. Then run the opener until the sprocket turns counterclockwise and stops. Now with everything still hooked up and the door in the open position replace and tighten the chain. This should get you close to where you want to be and some minor adjustments of the up and down limit controls should do it.

I have a lift master garage door. the door close sometime but sometime will close but pop back up. I have tried to adjust it but it continue to do the same

There should be only 2 things that make it go back up.
First the pressure switch on the door itself. If it is set to low just the pressure from the door closing can set it off. See if you can close the door and use your hands to put some pressure on the door if it goes back up with little pressure then adjust the pressure switch. You might have to turn it a couple of rounds to see a difference.
The other is if you have it installed is the reflective proximity beam on the bottom. Check it and make sure everything is tight and lined up. If it is loose the vibration from the door closing can break the beam and reverse the door. Hope that helps.

I have a 2007 yukon and the lift gate goes up about half way and returns to the closed position. What is going on?

try removing your shocks/struts for the lift gate. once removed, check to see if they fully extend in and out of the barrel. You may have bent shocks/struts. Also, check to see there is nothing preventing the lift-gate from opening such as a bolt or acorns between the spoiler and the roof...

LiftMaster Gargage door opener problem

The door obstacle detector(reversing switch) needs adjustment, or the down limit sensor needs adjusting, or one of the lift springs is loose or broken. First, remove power from the opener, pull the red door release rope, and try to lift the door up manually. You should be able to lift it all the way open with litle effort. If it opens ok, pull the door down about halfway and let go. If it is properly balanced, it should stay where you left it. If the door fails either one of these tests, it needs spring replacement or adjustment. If the door moves ok, refer to your owners manual on how to adjust the reversing switch, linit switches, and photocell sensors at the door bottom.
