SOURCE: Dryer runs, tumbles clothes, but does not heat

PSUinNC The first thing you have to do is to check in what position is the temperature switch . If the temperature switch is in the "air fluff" position, then the heater will stay "off". If this is not an issue, reset the circuit breaker. The motor needs only 120V to run, but the heater needs 240V and if one of legs is missing, the dryer would not heat. If it did not solve the problem, you have to perform full diagnosis. You will need some simple hand tools and a meter to check a continuity. If you are fillng you can handle it, let me know and I'll give you the step by step instructions. Gendos...post back

SOURCE: Hotpoint Aquarius TDL30 tumble dryer timer not advancing

fmw76:

This could be a timer issue or a thermostat.
If you are using a timed dry it would be timer .
If you are using an auto dry cycle it would possibly be a thermostat.

SOURCE: kenmore 64672 dryer gets hot but clothes still wet

you have a clogged wall vent or clogged dryer vent or a clogged lint trap, you are trapping all the hot wet air in the dryer and that's why it's taking so lont to dry-mike

My Miele T294C NOVOTRONIC TUMBLE DRYER KEEPS STOPPING AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF DRYING. I CAN SWITCH IT BACK ON IMMEDIATLY ONLY FOR IT TO STOP AGAIN. CAN YOU HELP?

Hi - it seems likely the moisture sensor unit is faulty, reason?

Well Miele dryers after you start up will actually try to work out the amount of moisture in the dryer, it will calcualte the time & temp required to correctly dry the load in the machine. I suspect the sensor is not functioning proper.

I will assume there are no messages or other indications or flashing lights on the right side of the knob - it would be nice to plug my laptop to it and find out for sure..

You have cleaned the heat exchanger unit in the bottom corner of the dryer, the filter in the door and the two on the bottom of the door opening..

Despite all of these I would lean on the faulty sensor as the most likely culprit.

You may have to locate the nearest Miele service agent to help you out...

cheers

I have a Miele T5206 dryer. It is heating up properly and tumbling as well. The problem is that the air blower is not coming on. Maybe a fuse or a breaker, but where to start looking for that?

I solved the same problem by pressing the three reset buttons on the side of the heater element housing.
Under the machine, remove plastic ducting for exhaust air. Undo the shiny bracket which holds the heater housing in place. Gently pull housing down and when you turn it around you will find (sometimes very covered in fluff) three red reset buttons. press, so they stay in. replace all parts.. Worked for me, with a fairly heavily used machine with alot of fluff build up inside the heater element(this was removed carefully)

The drum is not spinning on a miele dryer, model T5206, the appliance is generating heat, the brushes are intact and also the belt on the centre of the drum is intact.

the tensioning device [ spring] is weak or the belt is stretched beyond its usable length. if a new belt has been installed, the tech didn't put the belt on the correct side of the tensioning device. it is possible to install it wrong.
