Be very careful with the acetone. It will dissolve protective varnish and melt styrene plastics. Short of a camera shop, the best thing to try is denatured alcohol. Chances are, since you turned the camera on before it was totally dried out, it's scrap.

Only chance is specialist electronic cleaning or you can try yourself with molar acetone (ie chemically pure, not nail polish remover which contains lanolin). Tap, rain or bottled water contains dissolved minerals which are deposited on wherever the water happens to lie. It is these minerals that conduct electricity (pure H2O does not conduct electricity) and it is these impurities that are shorting your camera.

I unknowingly spilled water on my Nikon Coolpix L120.

One thing I've done, which might be too late for is submerge my electronic device (cell phone, remote controls, etc) in 99% rubbing alcohol. The logic behind it is, alcohol is non conductive so it wont create shorts, combines with water and evaporates faster than water.

I think at this point your best option is to find something to draw the moisture out of the camera. You need to remove the battery until this process is done as well. Rice (dry uncooked) does a decent job of absorbing moisture. Whatever the case is, you will have to get all the optics cleaned after its dried out.

Samsung mobile sgh e840 fell into water

remove all possible [parts, battery, back cover, sim card, memory card and other things you can open using a special screw driver, let it dry several days or use a hair dryer on cool settings until determined everything is dry.

As for the battery, let is dry under the hot sun before attempting to put it back in the phone.

after that make a simple power on test, if it works, you are in luck, otherwise consider your phone completely water damaged and will not be accepted for repair due to the red water damage mark indicator.

My camera fell in sea water

My sympathies. If you immediately fished the camera out, removed the battery, rinsed it in fresh water, and let it dry thoroughly before even thinking about putting the battery back in and seeing whether it turns on again, then you MIGHT be able to salvage the camera. Otherwise it's time for a new camera.

The pictures on your memory card should be okay. Just rinse the card in fresh water and let it dry before trying to read the card.

My nokia e63 fell in water.... what is the solution????

Immediately remove the phone from the water, turn off the cell phone remove the battery and SIM card. When you have driedthe cell phone by putting in a warm sunny place for several days then reassemblethe phone. Hopefully it will work properly but if does not work then it isfaulty and you need a new cell phone.

Two days back my cell nokia E7 fell into water and was there in it for 5 minutes.Intially it started after a while when we kept in sun n made it dry but later on it got switched off and till now its not...

First: Do this before:
Remove the battery and sim
Then DRY it with warm air (hair dryer) for 5 to 10 minuetes or more
but keep the dryer far of the phone in case it becomes too hot and be damaged.
keep do this till it turns on
IF it doesnt work, Find A MOBILE REPAIR STORE.

Fell in water

DO NOT TRY TO TURN IT ON!!! You will only fry the circuits. Remove the battery and card. Dry the compartment as well as you can. Bury the camera in a bowl of dry rice for one week. Then, you can try to turn it on (keeping your fingers crossed). Even if it works, you still have the problem of water marks on the interior lens elements. Also, I'm assuming this was fresh water and not salt water.

My FE-280 is living-dead

I'm working on the premise that SMTH stands for something.

If its had water in it, and the battery wasn't removed immediatley and not replaced until the camera was thoroughly dried out, then its probably dead. Water and the electrical charge from the battery will short out the delicate circuits in the camera.

Its probably too late now, but you could remove the battery and put it in a warm dry place (airing cupboard) for a couple of days, then try it again.

Got wet, powers on but doesn't display images

Take it as completly apart as you can. Let it be for at least 24 hours. If he screen still doesn't work, it never will again. Unless it is a very exspensive camera, it would not be worth it to have the screen fixed.

E71 nokia fell in water..no signal..all ok otherwise

If your (bad) luck is holding, low-level circuits have been damaged by current from elsewhere, especially if trying to connect since this uses circuits capable of much higher power than the low-level ICs were intended to deal with.
Since it isn't working anyhow, try this:
Add a drop (not more) of dish detergent to a couple of quarts of warm distilled water - no product that has anything added to the water. Remove the battery from your phone, dunk it into the solution and swirl it a bit to ensure penetration of the solution.
Rinse it in distilled water only, shake out whatever you can without slamming against anything. Allow it to dry (battery compartment open) in any warm place such as a sunny railing, window sill, etc. for at least two days.
I have used this method successfully on a number of electronic items with good success.  The most extreme incident was a word processor I serviced (many moons ago) belonging to an author who had weeks of work stored in the unit when his tom-cat decided it was a good place to urinate.
Good luck-

My Camera in water

Usually when cameras fall in water, the circults gets wet and mostly causes a short-circuit which causes the components to fail. If the camera fell in water without the battery you could try

1. Drying it completly before putting on the battery to test it.

2. Immerse the camera in alchol complety. It basically substitutes water (removes moisture) and vaporises quickly. Dry it completly and test it with battery.

If the battery was in when you dropped it your chances are less. You could dry it completly and show it to a technician ASAP. Make sure no moisture reaches it.

Hope its still under warranty.
