The BIOS will detect the hard drive and cd rom correctly so at most you should go into the BIOS and select the option to restore optimum settings. The ntldr is possibly the hard drive not being recognized or corrupt data. If the BIOS keeps giving an error the drive is most likely defective and will need replacing, if the BIOS error goes away and the ntldr error is still there try the tips at this link http://tinyempire.com/notes/ntldrismissing.htm

Resource conflict error

I would run chkdsk/f on your hdd as errors like this can be caused by system file issues. Go to my computer, right click on drive C and choose properties than tools and then click Check Now. After that run ASC from iobit, a free registry cleaner that actually works!

You need to go into the BIOS (setup) and reset to factory defaults first. This should clear up the issue.

I would firstly reboot and if that doesn't clear the error run www.iobit.com asc.setup utility to remove crosslinked files and sort out a crosslinked registry. Failing that remove the driver from the Control Panel and let the OS set up a fresh driver. Make sure the driver is the correct one!

You have a n IRQ conflict meaning you have a device that is trying to use an IRQ slot that its not meant to talk on. From the looks of it you have been in the bios already so go back in and set it to factory default.

Whenever I boot I get the followoing msgs- pri master atapi cd rom primary slave ide hdd primary salave hd smart command failed no 1de master hdddetected press f1 to continue-- then okay But sometimes...

please change the wire connection in your pc from CD rom to HDD so that HDD become primary master and cd rom become primary slave, check after this, and if still get error check your IDE cable, and for the smart command fail may be your HDD didnt support smart feature, so disable this from advance setup

Resource Conflict - PCI on Motherboard Bus:0A, Device:09, Function:00 = CARDREADER PROBLEM

I did try all that, and it didnt work, on a 5050 acer built on a 3100 gabinet.

I think that the problem is that the cardreader chip is not well glued to the motherboard, that's why it gives you that error. If you try pressing certain points of the computer while booting, it miraculously stops giving that conflict error.

We should be payed back by Acer, as this is an project issue =P

Hard Disk and Booting issue

go into your BIOS and on the bottom of your screen there should be a (last good config) of (fail-safe config) value for one or=f the F1 to F12 buttons. also. are you running a 4gb hdd??? or is that a typo? anyhow, XP REQUIRES 2GB at all times free if your hdd is running at less that that (cause its full) your boot up could be messed around. finally make sure that the little plug on your hdd is across the Master or cable select pins not the slave as this can cause probs too. good luck.
