Question about Nikon COOLPIX L3 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Negative color Suddenly the camera is coming up with weird colors. Backgrounds pink, too bright. Just a mess and it is not the battery or the SD card. Any ideas appreciated as we just cannot buy a new camera right now.

I did do that. It seems to be some problem with the flash as I can shoot with no flash and the picture is okay. I rarely use anything but auto or close-up settings since the pictures are either of our gardens or our grandchildren.

Thanks. Will check into this next week.

You'd have to indicate here what your current settings are. Otherwise, reset all to factory defaults and try again. Make sure AUTO is selected!

Good to know. I"m sorry, but it seems like there might be a mechanical problem or the bulb is broken, since all the settings are reset, this eliminates any "software" problem. Contact your local service center for repairs.

Check the cable going into the back of your monitor and the cable from your monitor into your computer, one of them is most likely loose.

When trying to take a picture or record a movie, the screen is a solid light pink.

try an sd card from another source. the format function of the camera should be used to prepare the sd card for the camera before you take pics with it. this may be a format issue with nintendo. format will erase all images on card, so save them first somewhere else.

My monitor is all weird colors

Generally, this is caused by the loss of one of the main color inputs (Red Green Blue). Do the Following:
  1. Check the cable connections at both the monitor and the computer. Look inside the connector for any bent bent pins (there may be some that appear to be missing, generally that is normal) then reset the connections firmly and tighten the retainer screw snug, but not extremely tight.
  2. If that doesn't resolve, try the monitor on a different system and see if the problem follows the monitor. If it does, try a different cable. If the problem doesn't occur on another system, then the video card of the effected system is suspect.
  3. If issue occurs on multiple systems with known good cables, then the monitor will need replacement.

Pictures are pink with lines

The camera is a wonderful Kodak product and takes beautiful 8.5 Megapixel photographs. When you save the pictures to an SD card, you must at some point remove them digitally from the card.
Either by linking it to the USB cable and going from there to your PC, OR by removing the SD card from the camera and inserting it into an SD card slot in your computer, printer, or card reader. Occasionally the card readers such as the ones in your PC, printer, or card reader devices do not connect properly and will only transfer part of the data, resulting in pink ugly lined photographs. This problem can be fixed by using the USB cable instead of the built in card readers in your other devices.

No real color picture, looks like an undeveloped negative, ghost

The pictures are indeed negative.  When scanning negatives or transparencies make sure you have the scanner set to the appropriate setting, otherwise simply Invert the colors in Photoshop, or similar photo editing software.
